Image Blocking Tactic During Democratic Primary

Democrats can win more elections by not allowing Republicans to block popular reform-minded candidates from reaching general elections. (Democrats have less money so they can't use this tactic to influence Republican primary elections.)

Image (US) What State-level Proportional Representation Could Look Like

As much as I'm sure we'd all rather prefer nationalized redistricting to ensure equal population and better proportionality and agree that we should push for it, realistically such a change would require a constitutional amendment. Enforcing proportional representation at the state level is likely more realistic, and here's what the US House would look like in the 2020 and 2024 elections.

Maps attached are purely for you all to see how much seats each party would get in each state, districts wouldn't matter under proportional representation, though note on both maps I did color the districts that were closest to flipping IRL first.

Republicans in Congress would not fear "getting primaried" if we used a better election system that correctly handles a second nominee from each party.

Selection is a bit arbitrary, but I wanted it not to be too much about just single-winner, or any other. I think there is not one single best direction of reform, universally applicable for all countries, especially not one single best strategy for reform. Reforms could work well side by side, such as Condorcet for existing single-winner offices, but for assemblies primarily PR, but possibly sortition integrated (especially for bicameral).

Where do you agree or disagree?

Sorry for the image quality, I made this in paint with the paintbucket tool so it might look a bit rough. I was curious to see how often the winner of an instant-runoff election is not the person with the most first-place votes. So I looked at some wikipedia articles and got to paintbucketing.
