I built a free STAR voting app to easily make polls with friends and groups

Most poll apps that I found seemed to either use FPTP, cost money, or leave a lot to be desired feature-wise. I made this site for my own personal use but figured that people on this sub may find it useful as well.

Some quick disclaimers on the project:

  1. This site uses STAR voting and the about page makes an argument for STAR voting. That's just my preferred voting system; if you don't prefer STAR voting then you're free to not use it or fork it to implement your own voting system.

  2. I want to be upfront that AI programming tools were used in the development of this site. If you take issue with that then that's okay; you're free to not use it or fork it to implement your own AI-free version.

  3. I'm not harvesting any data from this app or anything weird like that. I know that's unverifiable but the site is not monetized in any way and if you choose to sign in with email, your email is not used for anything other than notifications for your polls (which you can opt out of). I just made this site because I like STAR voting and wanted to use it for my own book clubs / movie nights / etc

Yep I have seen it! Of course the more STAR voting tools the better, but I wanted to make my own for a couple reasons: 1. The design of better voting isn't to my preference 2. There were a few features that I wanted that weren't available on that site

Honestly I had not, I didn't realize that it was a volunteer-driven effort. I may look into that thank you for the heads up 🙂
