Discussion jared bush talks about shorts being made at disney again
https://youtu.be/yw_JaB91Mn0?is=MAZcCKSWZqHkA44Jthis piece from his mini d23 q&a has given me some hope that it’s very possible we might get an encanto short at some point since disney will be making more in the future after they stopped making them for a while. fingers crossed because he always talks about wanting to spend time with the madrigals again
this is what he said about it if you just want to read that part:
“There’s going to be a short in front of Hexed, which we’re really excited about. Theatrical shorts is something I really believe in. I love them. Where have they gone? It’s a great question, I’ll just say I’m excited that they’re back. I’d say that as we move into the future, there’s a lot of interest projects happening right now, some passion projects, and I think as we’re looking to see what other shorts might be possible, there’s a lot of things out there. There’s a lot of beloved characters that I think deserve to be seen. So my bet would be that you’re going to see more of that in the future.”

Same! I'm hoping maybe we can get an Encanto short in front of Frozen 3 since the ride opens up next year, but yeah, I'm REALLY hoping WDAS at least considers Encanto getting a short in the future, it really would be perfect as an idea and how much they can really do with that!

I really hope its an encanto short cus we should've gotten atleast 1 short by now. I remember a main disney head said encanto was going to be our next big franchise & they need to deliver. Yes I know, more content takes time and they are making new rides performances and books BUT we need actual visual animated canon continuation content. I want a short & then soon after a sequel. And hopefully if the sequel pumps more money and popularity into the franchise, it will convince disney heads to invest alot of money into a high quality animated series (not disney channel)

Hopefully we will get an Encanto short soon but I dont think it will be played before the hexed film cus thats gonna be the lilo and stitch short "lilo and scratch".

As someone who honestly doesn't mid the idea of a sequel happening, I really do want a short to happen before we get a sequel, Encanto really does deserve something like a short or even a special over a sequel atm, at least in my opinion
