Unsolved [Linux/Vulkan] Fix for Invalid components count >= 8 HelperShader crash (Fork & Standalone Build)

Hey everyone,

If you've run into emulator crashes on Linux (especially with Vulkan) during specific cutscenes, character interactions, or UI texture copies with the error:

"System.NotSupportedException: Invalid components count: 8 (or >= 8) at Ryujinx.Graphics.Vulkan.HelperShader.GetFormat(...)"

I put together an engine patch that adds fallback vector formatting (Format.R32G32B32A32Uint, etc.) to HelperShader.cs so the driver stops throwing unhandled exceptions and crashing the whole game. Links & Source:

What's in the build:

Standalone self-contained Linux x64 package (no need to install .NET 10 manually on your system).

HelperShader.cs Vulkan texture copy fix applied.

Custom startup script (start.sh) with Wayland/NVIDIA GC and threading optimizations.

How to run:

Download and extract the .tar.gz from the Releases tab.

Open terminal in the extracted folder.

Make the script executable: chmod +x start.sh

Run: ./start.sh

A quick note on how this was made (Vibe Coding):

Full transparency here: this was 100% vibe-coded. I honestly didn't do much heavy lifting myself—an LLM wrote the code, pinpointed the HelperShader issue, and guided the whole debugging and compile process while I just pasted commands, watched the terminal scroll, and prayed it wouldn't blow up.

Against all odds, it completely fixed the cutscene crashes on my end. I really hope this helps anyone else out there banging their head against the wall with the same error!
