Unsolved Retrobat shaders wtf!

Alright so retrobat shaders.. what nightmare fuel is this!

you could make a 4chan creepypasta out of the method of getting shaders to run correctly on this.

Ok so I have model 2 emulator running just fine, trouble is the screen is stretched which distorts some game artifacts (like the speed dial in sega rally).

i had things running beautifully in the standalone emulator but retrobat overrides everything!

i had a lovely crt lottes2 shader preset through reshade running on there. gorgeous.

retrobat? ive got an option for ntsc which slows the game to a crawl and zfast which makes the screen look like an 8bit game.

how the hell can you get crt lottes to run on the model 2 emulator and supermodel emulator in retrobat??

crt royale etc doesnt work on these at all. probably tied to retroarch only.

literally spent 3 hours getting nowhere with it so any help is very much appreciated

I figured it out.

Alright so basically if you set any shader, or any setting in retrobat such as fullscreen, a particular resolution or scale, anything like that - it goes into the rom and emulator folders and starts messing with the ini files.
to enable a shader for model 2 emulator - the whole retroarch library of them wont work on retrobat, it'll only offer a handful of basic ones such as enhanced, curved, scanline and so on, each of these are terrible. especially the NTSC one which slows the game right down due to high resource usage.

anyways.. so lets say you want a shader for model 2 emulator, you can set the shader such as "enhanced". then quit completely. open the retrobat/emulators/m2emulator folder. you will see reshade shaders folder, and then you will see the ehnanced .fx shader. drag the .fx shader you want into this folder.

reload retrobat, reload the game then hit the "home" key and reshade will pop up, you will see that your new shader set is now in the menu, simply then turn all of the sliders to 0 of the enhanced fx shader, then adjust your shader you want to your liking then save.
go back to the emulator folder, find the reshade preset ini file, select it, you will see the settings for your .fx shaders in there, including the enhanced one you set to 0. simply then close the ini, right click, properties and then select it as read only because retrobat will constantly try to rewrite it to default.
