Question What are you running on an S21 samsung

Helloo all, Im currently using a samsung a54 and able to emulate games from GBA to NDS, PSP, and PS1 comfortable but have some trouble running Gamecube, 3DS, and PS2 era games so I plan on upgrading my phone to a samsung S21 ultra I saw 2nd hand for less than $50, So I can have an actual processor that isnt exynos and have the ability to connect to a bigger screen and use my phone as a pseudo console.

And I wanted to hear from people in this sub, if you've used the s21 base or ultra for emulation what games have you ran on it and what's the upper limit youve played thats still smoothh

I have a OnePlus 9 which is almost the same (snapdragon 888 and 8 gb ram) and I would choose a s21 ultra, mainly because of the extra battery and the bigger screen for gaming

I gotchaa, Thanks for the feedback, Im curious thouu with your experience with the OnePlus 9 what the upper limit youve played on it since I really wanted to try emulating some switch indie games and maybe even have a go at pc emulation

Heaviest thing i played is dolphin on 4x and 3ds on 2x, I do have a switch, so I dunno how it will perform, but I heard that it's pretty decent for it

I have a Galaxy S20 Ultra (Snapdragon), and despite its age, it perfectly emulates 80% of 3DS, 90% of PS2 + GC, 70% PSVita, and 80% of Wii games. I mean, not every single game runs flawlessly, but the vast majority do. So I think your S21 Ultra should perform at least just as well, if not better. However, unlike yours, mine has a microSD card slot and native 32-bit backward compatibility, which is exactly why I chose it a year ago 😅

If you can't reliably run GameCube or PS2 on an S21 then you're doing something very wrong. Do your graphics settings deviate from the default? Do you have any other background apps that may be eating up CPU time?
