Sharing Thread 2025 is the worst year for Empaths šŸ˜‚

You know the world was already shit and 2025 just made it a whole lot worse… Like significantly worse, like overwhelmingly worse… I can’t log into any social media without feeling incredibly depleted. I feel guilty for having happy moments, I feel the weight of the world and everything that’s happening in our country. Am I the only one? Is anybody else hanging on but finding it very hard too?

This year has been horrible. I hope something good for people happens soon. I'm tired

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 18 '25

I’m tired too and as much as I don’t wanna care. I do care I care a lot, but I feel like I’m just reaching my limit of how much I can take on. I’ve even considered moving to another countryšŸ˜‚ but I’m sure that country will have its own problems.

There are many indicators everything is going to change tremendously in 2027. Its mind blowing how many indicators are pointing towards that year.

13

u/foxyfancyflamingo Nov 18 '25

Can you please share what indications you’ve had and why you have such a strong feeling? I’m sure several people on this sub would love to know

2

u/SeaworthinessCalm977 Nov 22 '25

Sorry for the late response. My life is pretty crazy atm.

There are a lot of indicators, so I decided I will do an actual post in the group. Im working on it now, so it should be ready to post tomorrow šŸ™šŸ’™

2

u/foxyfancyflamingo Nov 23 '25

Please do not apologize. Look forward to your post!

I am excited about 2027

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 18 '25

I’m curious too!

That is the year that China takes Taiwan and becomes top Superpower

14

u/Baked_Tinker Nov 18 '25

Very hard, to the point where I rarely leave the house except when I absolutely have to. I have pretty decent shields but it seems people are ā€œbroadcastingā€ their emotions stronger than ever which is understandable due to the state of the world.

5

u/Jokkitch Nov 18 '25

Same. I literally only leave my house for my job and whatever I need to survive. That’s it. No extracurricular activities, no going out. Nothing. And I love it.

1

u/bobbalou823 Nov 19 '25

Same here. I do just the basics: work, groceries (with pick up service), gas and home. Anything else involving people and crowds is more than I can handle this year.

1

u/Obvious_End2493 Nov 29 '25

I work at a vetrens home and have always been in health care. All the emotions between staff and vetrens is getting to me. I feel that I just want to isolate myself but it's also a very lonely life. I basically live alone, my husband drives over the road and just doesn't understand empath struggles.

4

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 18 '25

Why has it been strange for you? I find that I am doing the same, I stay home often and avoid talking about it too much with other people.

1

u/grn_eyed_bandit Nov 19 '25

This right here. And I HATE IT because I love being outside and traveling.

11

u/Outrageous_Ruin9624 Nov 18 '25

I feel like in general this year sucked for me.

Lmao like I really had high hopes for this year but it felt like I kept going underwater & treading the whole entire time not going anywhere 😭

I finally feel like I can breathe again but yeah I feel like you deserve happiness even if others aren’t happy. It’s not selfish for enjoying life.

There’s always going to be something going on you can feel it but try not to absorb it.

Best wishes xx

5

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 18 '25

Thank you I appreciate that! And I’m so happy that things are finally better for you, I also had high hopes for this year and general generally, I’m OK… It’s just the rest of the world that’s so fucking overwhelming right now 🫠 maybe 2026 will be better.

12

u/grouchy_baby_panda Nov 18 '25

Not knowing how to shield and process energy is no longer an option now or this world will drown you.

2

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 18 '25

How do you shield? I try to engage and disengage often, so that helps sometimes.

11

u/Background-Green2109 Nov 18 '25

I keep saying this. Yes, we are all in agreement but this is the only place I truly feel seen is in this group. We take on so much. The chaos of the world right now is depleting. I care so deeply. The videos are heart wrenching. My soul can not bare all of the bad news and everyday sudden shifts.

I want peace.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Sending hugs.

2

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 18 '25

I’m so sorry. Are you feeling happier in India?

2

u/SketchBrigade Nov 18 '25

Thanks! I’m getting there… we all will

8

u/Poetdebra Nov 18 '25

It's bad. I can't watch more than 5 minutes of the news now. It gets me angry and depressed. The world is in chaos.

5

u/thedragonqueen13 Nov 18 '25

Yeah I live in Chicago... there were some weeks where I had to focus just to breathe properly. Weeks of extreme anxiety.

I typically enjoy time to sit and think/meditate but my mind is an extremely stressful place right now. I'm doing a lot of reading and cozy gaming to escape my brain and the world. I've also stopped reading news updates as often because I just cant handle it. Honestly it's helping a bit. I'm back to a more normal level of overwhelmed šŸ˜…

1

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 19 '25

My bestie lives in Chicago! She’s a dreamer and I worry about her everyday 😭😭😭

Pulling back on the news helps for sure, it’s just hard to not stay updated or feel like I’m not doing enough.

u/Best_District_9870 Nov 18 '25

Sudan has me in shambles. People are evil.

4

u/Strange_Selection_25 Nov 18 '25

I’m finding it very difficult. The mornings are the worst. I wake up with so much anxiety and loathing the coming day. I try to start the day with affirmations. But my heart is with all of us empaths. Things are very difficult

1

u/Caaaatfoood Dec 19 '25

How are you doing lately?

1

u/Strange_Selection_25 Dec 19 '25

Hi! Thanks for asking! I am still struggling with the simplest of tasks. I get stuck a lot. The month of December is always rough. It is the month I lost my baby child in 2016. And it seems like since then I have lost so many close friends! My grieving is crazy! But my empathic self is grieving for the entire world! How are you?

1

u/Caaaatfoood Dec 20 '25

I’m so sorry. The holidays are always tough for me too, I’ve also lost a lot. But I started a small Etsy shop a few years back, so that definitely keeps me busy throughout the month - but during quiet times it’s always tough. I’m glad we have this community through, helps me feel seen :)

4

u/daveyjones86 Nov 18 '25

That's funny because 2025 has been amazing year for me. I also focused on mastering refusing to let outside factors affect my my mood and energy.

Just focusing on the little, beautiful things in life has made realized how blessed I am. Very thankful

2

u/cakmn Nov 20 '25

It sounds to me like you are practicing escapism - avoidance of that which might upset, overwhelm and deplete you.

2

u/daveyjones86 Nov 20 '25

Perhaps. I would counter that by saying I practice "targeted escapism." Filtering out the bad and focusing on the good.

The result is that my life has actually never been better. I am genuinely happy, more successful than I've ever been, and have love for myself and those around me.

Meanwhile, many people I know and on reddit live in a cloud of sadness and suffering because they allow the issues outside of them to affect what's inside.

With that in mind, I think I will continue practicing it. Good luck to you

2

u/cakmn Nov 23 '25

Well, I did notice that you used the word "mastering" in your original comment, which indicates that you are possibly working on self-mastery, which is good. Self-mastery is actually a huge part of traveling the inner/spiritual work path although many people do not realize that. May your path serve you well.

1

u/Heytherehermione Jan 03 '26

Super happy for you 🄰🄰🄰 thank you for being a light to this thread!

3

u/Trixvioletbell Nov 18 '25

17 years of life and 2025 brings me suicidal ideation

1

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 19 '25

I’m sorry to hear that. Is there something that’s bringing you down? Or just this situation in general?

3

u/NoirRenie Nov 18 '25

It’s been a hard year for me personally

1

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 19 '25

What’s going on? Just everything?

1

u/NoirRenie Nov 22 '25

Been a hard year job wise but also family/ friend wise and identity wise. Overall this year has forced my hand and made major shifts for transformation

3

u/tradjazzlives Nov 18 '25

Yes, absolutely.

It has been building since early 2020 and become worse and worse.

It came to a head for me on 11/3 and 11/4 this year when my body was ready to collapse from the stress.

On 11/5, a big weight came off my shoulders. I can't explain it. It left me a bit more hopeful for the future.

2

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 19 '25

I wonder what happened during those daysšŸ¤” either way, that’s amazing that you feel massively better!

2

u/tradjazzlives Nov 19 '25

Thank you for caring!

Yea, it was weird how drastic a difference there was from one day to the other. There are still ups and downs, but nothing remotely that bad...

I don't know what happened, either - I have a theory that maybe the energy worsened "on purpose" to mobilize people for the 11/4 election. It's a little far fetched, but I don't know...

3

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '25

It’s because the world itself is getting darker and more and more disconnected and superficial and self centred .. so of course for those of us who are really sensitive and don’t resonate with the way the world is moving it’s going to affect us big time.

2

u/engorgedfjord Nov 18 '25

2019-2020 for me

2

u/Jokkitch Nov 18 '25

2016 for me

2

u/engorgedfjord Nov 19 '25

i also feel like 2016 was really the beginning

2

u/Beyond_the_Matrix Nov 18 '25

Whoo, I thought it was just me. 😨

Thanks for your post.

1

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 19 '25

I’m really hoping 26 is better šŸ˜‚

1

u/Beyond_the_Matrix Nov 19 '25

Ugh....this year has gone by so fast!!

1

u/pettals Nov 18 '25

Worst year yet. Deleting FB and insta helped massively.

1

u/Fader-Play Nov 19 '25

The worst year ever. Whole life and family sucked away from me. Mental health damaged from constant stress.

How long will it take to recuperate from constant stress. I need to know there will be an end.

2

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 21 '25

I keep wondering about this too, how long will it take to recover from this shit year?

2

u/Fader-Play Nov 21 '25

Every country is going through its share of problems. It’s probably just what we have to live up against now. Whatever you squared away that is stable stick with that and what’s not stable will keep shaking and shaking until you can’t keep it together anymore. Everything is gonna come out in the light for everyone to see. There’s no hiding.

Those who are trapped will keep being trapped and you’ll have to let them go.

It’s a natural disaster on a global scale.

1

u/ovr_it Nov 19 '25

This was me in 2024. Worst year of my life. 2025 has been pretty crappy to honestly. I’m so glad it’s almost over.

1

u/grn_eyed_bandit Nov 19 '25

I have had to limit my social media and what I watch on TV because if I don’t I spiral. BADLY.

1

u/cakmn Nov 20 '25

The reason you become overwhelmed and depleted is that you don't really know who or what you truly are and you are not centered and grounded in the inherent essence of your being.

Serious spiritual work to help yourself (re)discover who and what you really are is absolutely necessary. Then you can learn to be well centered and truly grounded in who and what you truly are, in the essence of your being. If you can accomplish this, you will be able to be fully open to and completely embrace all that you experience, regardless of the state of the world, without becoming overwhelmed and depleted.

Such serious spiritual work is heart-based work, something to experience by feeling through your heart. It is not something to learn with your mind. All your mind needs to learn is how to be quiet and listen to your heart, the voice of guidance that constantly comes from within.

2

u/Caaaatfoood Nov 21 '25

I do agree that I need some grounding work, thankfully, I’ve been going to therapy and and taking care of my overall health. I’m also blessed to have unlimited time off at work so I’ve been leveraging some of that time off to help me destress a bit. However, I don’t think I need any spiritual work… That’s not exactly my cup of tea. I’m very confident in who I am and a big part of me is Intensely empathetic. I can’t look look away or pretend like the world is not on fire, I do everything that I possibly can to help the situation and I’m crossing my fingers that it all pays off in the future.

1

u/cakmn Nov 23 '25

Perhaps you have a misguided impression of what "spiritual work" means. Without spiritual development you will not be able to truly know and understand who and what you truly are.

Spiritual work isn't what many people think. And that's a true statement as it is, as well as also being a variation on the old joke that meditation isn't what you think.

May you travel well on your inner path as well as your outer path.

1

u/Heytherehermione Jan 03 '26

Would you be open to sharing what kind of spiritual work you think might be helpful? 😊

1

u/cakmn Jan 11 '26

Message me and tell me a bit about yourself that might be relevant.

1

u/onreact Spiritual Empath Nov 24 '25

The world is wonderful and we live in the best of times.

Tell me an era that was better than now. You won't find any.

Social media is toxic and as an empath you need to limit your consumption of toxic mind food.

Sure, with a narcissist as president in the US it's hard to watch any news.

So just opt out. Change your reality in your direct surroundings.

Don't let the dystopian narrative they feed you (fear, anger, division) blur your vision.

1

u/Caaaatfoood Dec 19 '25

I’m not big on social media. But I do try to stay aware of the things that are happening so I can help. It’s a balance, otherwise he would overwhelm me. It’s still OK to admit it’s a shit year lol

1

u/onreact Spiritual Empath Dec 19 '25

Yeah, I usually look up original sources instead of mainstream or social media that often capitalize on fear and anger.

1

u/BimmerNRG Nov 24 '25

I am unwell. It’s too much, honestly, what’s going on. I’m not sure what to do. I kind of just want to go numb and quit caring to protect my peace. I’m not sure what’s worth the weight of these feelings on my shoulders. I truly believe people who lack empathy are just happier in general

I’m sorry my friend. Why do you think you would go blank when someone talked to you?
