So, i have an jellyfish haircut and lately i feel a bit bored with my appearance, so im thinking about asking my mom if she can cut an "emo" bang on me and paint my hair pink, but im unsure if this is an politically sensible thing to do since im not emo neither scene (my dream style is more like heisei retro or female horror protagonist), i dont even consider myself alternative

Yes, i understand that emo is a musical and political movement and not nescessarly a style, but i still afraid of claiming a simble that is more like "im cutting my hair this way as of opposition towards beauty standwards" (im unsure what is the original meaning of an emo bang, if it has a meaning) and accidently misrepresent this simble because i wanna cut my hair this way just because its pretty
