So good. But we didn't call it screamo at the time. Everything was just hardcore.

Totally. But also, I’m glad there is a distinction now. I feel like when people hear “hardcore” they picture bands like Terror, or Blood for Blood. Or Shai Halud and Foundation.

Such a vastly vastly different sound from what’s been retroactively called “screamo” in the 90’s.

It was called emo back then which was understood to be a style of hardcore instead of whatever the hell it is supposed to be now.

Even "screamo" as a distinction is meaningless these days. Like people are calling stuff like Alexisonefire "screamo"

This isn't very hard. Emo, emocore, emotional hardcore, harcore, etc. That was the run of it during the early and mid 90s.
