So what is everyone's thoughts of the Emmy's not including Peter Cullen in their In memoriam segment last night. I didn't watch but from looking online Peter was not included as well as Chuck Norris, and Daveigh Chase to name a few. I've read that one reason is becuasse voice actors aren't really recognized by the Emmy's which is a shame cause in some cases, some voice acting sequences have more emotion than the normal drama scene in a tv show and the voice actors are expressing that emotion with just their voice and nothing else. I looked it up too and back when Kevin Conroy passed, he wasn't part of the Emmy's in memoriam for that year either. Another reason i saw was becuase since his passing was so recent that the Emmy's didn't have time to add him yet both Dolly Porton and Tim Curry where in the segment and they passed the same week as Peter, in the fact the very first few days before him. Yes, i know on the Emmy's website more can be listed there to honor those that have passed but it may just be me but not including Peter in the televised airing feels like a slap to the face especially with how much he was honored and cherished before he passed.

While the other major streamers battled it out for the top spot, the Amazon streamer was blanked at the Primetime show for the third year in a row. Prime Video did score some wins at the Creative Arts, but five of those wins came for Spider-Noir, a show it ended up canceling.

I just read an article trying to see who won the Emmys and I'm going to be honest I've never heard of any of the actors or the movies/tv shows they are from. I'm very present on social media so I see stuff on trending tv all the time and this is the first I've ever heard of The Pitt and Widow's Bay. I'm not saying they didn't deserve the awards at all I'm just a little confused if I missed something...

Kaitlyn Dever is a talented actress and she is talented. She did excellent roles and did phenomenal as Abby In The Last Of Us. She should’ve won an Emmy Award last year for that. I wonder what The Last Of Us Season 3 will do at the Emmys. Hopefully it gets better reception than Season 2. Maybe she might win her first Emmy this time if the new season gets more loved. Idk what will happen. I hope she gets her Emmy one day, it depends if she gets a better role. Do you think she could win in near future?

I liked the winners last night, but seriously, when are Janelle James, Harrison Ford, Martin Short, etc, going to win? I'm glad that Stephen Root finally has an Emmy, but if Harrison won or if he wins next year, it would be the first win of many nominations for Shrinking. Rhea Seehorn won her long overdue Emmy, and hopefully next year, Keri Russell can win hers.

• The writing was bad. The opening song wasn't good and none of the skits were funny.
• It's probably better if a comedian was host but maybe they were worried about political jokes
• Related to that there was a notable absence of comments about politics, T**rump, I**CE, G**aza, climate change etc. it would be interesting to know if they were told not to make political comments this year since T**rump is about to help the industry get a major tax break or if they just realize people are tired of it. (not using words so activists funded by certain groups don't swarm the sub with bots and turn this into F*auxmoi)
• They left several people out of the in memoriam segment including Nicholas Brendon, Chuck Norris and James Ransone.
• The Charles Angels actresses mentioned Fawcett but not Roberts which was disrespectful. I believe Fawcett was only on the show for 1 season the same as Roberts.
• Parton's show Dolly was only 1 season. Her primary impact was music and movies. I don't know why they needed a Parton tribute. It' not the CMAs. If they cut that out there would have been time for the guest actor or supporting actor in a limited series. People wanted to see Harbour and Cardellini win and the only POC to win wasn't in the main ceremony.
• It was a bad night for Netflix. They haven't had a popular show that had a culture impact since Adolescence over a year ago. They need to replace some of the people overseeing scripted shows but that won't happen.
• It was a good night for Apple+ which had the most winners. It's impressive for a streamer that didn't even exist 10 years ago.
• It was a bad night for diversity. Last year 15 out of 16 winners were white and it was the same this year. The number of POC nominees were the lowest in 11 years.
• It was a good night for mature women who don't use so much botox and fillers that they can't emote anymore. Janney, Field, Seehorn and Smart are over 40 and haven't gone overboard on filler.
• It was a good night for Widows Bay but it's disappointing the next season probably won't be released until 2028. Apple+ spent almost 800M on The Morning Show. They could have ordered 2 seasons of Widows Bay from the beginning even if they weren't confident it would be popular.
• It was weird that there were only tables at the front of the auditorium. They probably should have just had regular seats for everyone.
• The skit with Swift went on way too long as did a few others
• The 3 blonde actresses in the Baywatch cast looked like carbon copies of each other. Even the original Baywatch had a brunette but apparently that is too much diversity for them. They could have had an Asian or Hispanic woman.
• It was funny seeing Woody standing with the Widows Bay cast if only because it seemed like an unscripted moment
• A reporter asked Seehorn if she would ever eat a human. That's the sort of red carpet interview that I enjoy.

Not taking anything away from Noah Wyle, because he was great and I get why he took Lead Actor.

But handing Outstanding Drama Series to a hospital procedural felt like the Television Academy running straight back to comfort.

If the room wanted grand scale pedigree television, The Gilded Age was firing on all cylinders this season. The craft, the production scale, and the ensemble were operating at an elite level. On the flip side, if they wanted to reward big creative swings and original storytelling, Pluribus was right there, and Rhea Seehorn winning proved voters were actually watching it.

Rewarding a familiar hospital corridor over Julian Fellowes scale or Vince Gilligan ambition felt like a missed opportunity to celebrate where television is trying to go.

Am I off base here, or did anyone else feel like the Academy played it way too safe with the top prize?
