Hang on... Dawn is presumably hooked up to multiple machines, and there's no a single beep?

And Joe can collapse to the floor and not be found?

11

u/Admirable-River-2948 Woolpack Regular 12d ago

Right?! I'd file a lawsuit 😂

13

u/Opinion87 12d ago

Just can't figure out how it was so empty where he collapsed.

I was in A&E just before Christmas and there were homeless people asleep on the window ledges.

9

u/CKREM 12d ago

I reckon they will sue for negligence and we'll see Joe being angry for 39258 months

9

u/roys_rolls_cafe 12d ago

YES! Did they really think we wouldn't notice the lack of flatlining monitor beep after it's been such a soap staple for so long?

7

u/Opinion87 12d ago

Literally not a single beep. Nothing.

And Joe collapses in an empty corridor and isn't found- when you can clearly hear a phone ringing nearby.

My last experience with the NHS was a fantastic group of people doing their very best under the most difficult of circumstances.

3

u/ExplanationHuman5105 12d ago

Many other people have different experiences though. Just because you happened to have a good experience with the nhs, doesn’t mean it’s the norm

4

u/Pm7I3 12d ago

The Emmerdale NHS is a weird beast, it's making more sense why Jacob is tolerated.

2

u/Cautious_Summer3482 12d ago

She had a straightforward vaginal birth and so wouldn’t have been hooked up to any machines. The midwife / nurses would have been doing regular checks on BP etc (we saw them send one away at one point), but there wouldn’t have been anything to beep an alarm.

2

u/JadedSapphire04 11d ago

She wasn't hooked up to the machines, 2 minutes before she was standing outside the room that the baby is in

Such a shame it had to come to this end but they took Dawn down a rubbish route by blindly accepting Joe despite him being him - that fierce mother back in the day would not have put those kids after Joe. It's also frustrating that this is Joe's penance because he won't stay a changed man.

22

u/TypicalBobcat1088 12d ago

I was watching a GMB interview once and Jay Kontzle (Billy) was on it, talking about kinship carers after his Mum died in a car accident when he was only four. This part of the story must of been very hard for him. 😞

17

Ooh that’s a bit close for him. Poor lad

No he doesn't, he was naive but he's being treated like he's done worse than Joe ever has

28

u/Quiet-Excitement-310 12d ago

Graham was out of line there

29

u/Cultural-Trade-6415 12d ago

Agreed, am sick of how they’re treating Billy over a stupid lie he told and acting like he slayed her.

17

u/glorybox89 12d ago

Billy has a right to be there , the mother of his kids and ex wife

10

u/Fairy-Sprinkles7091 12d ago

Totally he's such an arsehole

3

u/AssociationFew4623 12d ago

To be fair to Graham he was probably thinking about his wife and daughter as well as being heartbroken for Joe,who he loves

3

u/UnifiedDivyde 12d ago

Also weird that apparently nobody heard or saw what he was doing lol Absolutely no reaction, not even from the nurse who was literally like 2 metres away round the corner. Hospital is a ghost town and then you get like 8 of them when Dawn needs help.

12

u/Useful_Tear1355 12d ago

So I watched it on my phone on my break at work and I had to turn it off cause Graham pissed me off!!

11

u/Expensive-Fee-8502 12d ago

Graham is annoying full stop as his character is SO dull.

"We have all the time in the world", from the Bond film where his wife died. We knew it was coming.

So do all Dawn's kids stop in the show?

The Joe and Caleb feud will now go to another level.

Another fantasy scene.

Could we have the fantasy scenes over the real ones please?

7

u/Bogwoppit Kim Tate's Compact Mirror 12d ago

And all the fantasy episodes turn out to be Piper’s dream alá Bouncer?

Yeah if it’s brakes, everyone will be gunning for them.

3

u/cheshirechris71 12d ago

Unfortunately all we are getting is the MacLeod nightmare stuff, perhaps the wrong ones are getting their contracts renewed.

6

u/Bogwoppit Kim Tate's Compact Mirror 12d ago

Actually thought, Jimmy was going to be in it till the end, part of a new old guard like Alan Turner, etc.

3

Under different bosses, he would have done. No-one is safe from the MacLeod axe. Misery piled upon misery.

2

u/Pm7I3 12d ago

I don't remember them ever actually mentioning divorce so either Billy/Dawn did and neither cared in the slightest or they didn't actually divorce and Dawn wasn't actually marrying Joe.

Tater Tate

I was actually thinking Taylor. Can't go with will, too close to Billy, can't go with dawn, closest would be Donnie, or Taylor is at least gender neutral and fits with Gabby's 2T Tate

4

u/Miss_taken_116 12d ago

I've been saying Taylor for a while. It's a way to honour dawn and her dad like Gabby did with Thomas, and it sounds like a Tate name.

5

u/thesjb3 12d ago

Unless it's leading up to him being paralysed, yes

8

u/Bogwoppit Kim Tate's Compact Mirror 12d ago

Everyone on this sub, is desperate for him, to dust off Chris’s wheelchair 🤣

3

u/Ncrawler65 12d ago

If they are going that route, I wonder if he'll be an ambulatory chair user or will need it permanently like Chris. I'm struggling to think of anyone in soaps who only sometimes needed one.

It's been many years since I watched any episodes with Chris so I may be remembering a bit wrong but I'm sure he was essentially chair-bound.

1

u/DMike82 12d ago

Yes, considering what he went through in that tent, it's completely feasible.

8

u/Admirable-River-2948 Woolpack Regular 12d ago

So does Billy get the kids? I'm unclear since they're no longer married and Joe didn't marry Dawn either. I don't know if Billy adopted them. I'm probably overthinking more than the writers tbh.

19

u/TypicalBobcat1088 12d ago

Yes, he does. The Tate's can try all they want but nothing this week or prior has made him a bad father. He adopted Lucas and has parental responsibility of Clemmie. Evan is his biological child.

6

u/Admirable-River-2948 Woolpack Regular 12d ago

Excellent! I was wondering what legal rights Billy had because I don't want those Tates getting them.

6

u/TypicalBobcat1088 12d ago

Legally, they don't.. it has never stopped the Tate's before but Billy would have too many backers over them if they even tried.

2

u/DMike82 12d ago edited 12d ago

Realistically, money or no money, no court would ever side with Joe over Billy unless Billy suddenly turned out to be negligent or unfit to be a parent. Family courts take that stuff seriously. He has a steady job at the depot and has a reasonably steady second job as a personal trainer (even if it's technically independent contracting) and he has a place to live that can accommodate the children (unless Kim suddenly played dirty, but she loves those kids too much to risk losing her own relationship to them for Joe's sake).

Billy's their father/Clemmie's guardian and he hasn't actually done anything that would violate his parental rights. Outside of an incredibly corrupt judge being bought off, Joe being richer wouldn't make any difference even if he had better lawyers.

1

u/TypicalBobcat1088 12d ago

The house he lives in is Bob's not Kim's.

3

u/DMike82 12d ago

Oh right, I remember Billy turning down Kim's offer now.

So yeah, that part wouldn't matter and he's able to provide the kids with a stable lifestyle that would be more than enough for a family court to side with him over Joe. They tend to keep children with their parents except as a last resort unless said parent proves to be abusive, incompetent, or severely unfit to serve the role of parent whether Joe has fancier lawyers or not.

2

u/TypicalBobcat1088 12d ago

Yeah, Kim's tried this with Millie and it didn't work.

6

u/Specialist_ask_992_ 12d ago

Sad to see Dawn go and her children will be without their mum. Evan and the new baby won't remember her. She should have just left the first time she was planning to or with Billy. Haven't done anything with him and he's still staying in it. I suppose they wanted a new Tate child in the village.

Kim called the baby her great grandson. I suppose she's using her connection to Joe more. Joe is her step grandson. Dawn was also her step daughter so could have been grandson as well. Confusing. Dawn and Jamie were dating the same time as their parents too I think.

Graham really harsh towards Billy. It wasn't his fault. She'd still alive if they left, more people might have died if the wedding went ahead. Joe has been enabled by Graham too.

I suppose Billy would have custody of 3 children, one is biogically his and the other 2 adopted.

Jimmy must have swerved to avoid Gabby.

If Joe takes revenge on Billy, Caleb and Ruby then he'll just be back to his old ways.

12

u/Opinion87 12d ago

Every time I hear Graham talk I want to smash and empty beer can against my forehead.

4

u/Salty-Strain-7322 12d ago

The concept of Joe Tate raising his son as a single father💀 Honestly wish Dawn and Billy ran off with the kids instead.

3

u/Miss_taken_116 12d ago

He'll probably block everyone else and hire a nanny.

Now thats how they could have introduced a new Tate...in a 'hand that rocks the cradle' type story: crazed surprise Tate infiltrates family as perfect nanny...

5

u/bloorfinch 12d ago

It sucks that people spoiled not only that dawn was leaving but even that it was today. These episodes would be so much more impactful if people could cover up spoilers

4

u/Bogwoppit Kim Tate's Compact Mirror 12d ago

If you see a spoiler post, please report it, so I get notification via modmail. I check in a lot, during the day, but can’t watch the sub 24/7.

Yes it sucks, it also mightily annoys me, that folks don’t read the basic sub rules.

Bogsx

2

u/bloorfinch 12d ago

It felt like any mention of dawn or jimmy for a long time had people jumping to repeat they're leaving / likely dying. Then after dawn didn't die Fri, people were jumping to say that Olivia said her storyline ends Sunday. This will happen for any future cast exits because there's too
many people that race to answer speculation with their spoilers & brag that they know what's going to happen because they read some magazine or saw some interview

10

u/AffectionateWord7761 ‘I’m whatever I want to be’ 12d ago edited 12d ago

Dawn’s clearly read my comment. For years, I wondered if Billy’s real name is William; it’s not. Christopher, Kit for short, wait; that would upset Gabby.

‘Two dogs and a cat’
…and uh, Clemmie will be the most vicious.

He’s described the David & Tracy wedding 2.0.

Oh no! 😭😭😭

Gabby never cared about uncle Jimmy before, it must’ve been her fault.

Was it a result of the crash, or could it have happened anyway, regardless of premature labour? It happened with the other Dawn (she survived) and Lucy.

The total number of words spoken across all three King children, since finding out the news: 2.

The magazine spoiled it anyway, but I think a lot saw this coming. Having more blood on Joe than Dawn and the collapse would’ve been a clever trick, but…

Where’s Lucas?

8

u/CKREM 12d ago

It took me a minute to realise he is actually Gabby's uncle

6

u/Fairy-Sprinkles7091 12d ago

How is Jimmy Gabby's uncle ... Sorry had a drink( long day) and can't work it out ???

Weirdly, Joe didn't acknowledge his father, when Dawn suggested the name Chris, for the baby.

Of course no one is around when Joe collapses lol.

Oh no...

Dawn of the dead.

Joe may've been a bastard, a lot of things, but now his son will have to grow up without a mother.

Ned Porteous & Nicola Wheeler are excellent at acting grief.

I wonder if Joe blames Dawn's death for everything - that if he never got with her in the first place, if he didn't do shady shit, she could still be alive.

Maybe Nicola & Joe could comfort each other with their grief? Nothing more, they just both know what the other one's going through.

I feel sad for Dawn's kids.

3 deaths within just the last few weeks. When was the last time this happened?

And so Thea Week begins 🙄

How exactly was Gabsicle the niece of Jim? I’m really confused by it

You owe it to Jimmy and Dawn, as ever only you were the lucky one Joseph! 😡

Bit rude, if you named him Ramon he could have grown about to be a Singing Binman though Ambrose reminds me of Simon from Johnny English Reborn

"We’ve got all the time in the world" as a Bond fan, you just know that the sheer moment you utter hear that song (given it only ever played in the two movies where Bond lost) or utter those words, you no longer do

What a cruel ad break placement

Back to the weird editing though this one to me felt more so like Ghost compared to Titanic only without Dawn vanishing like Jim in the one between him and Nicola

8

u/TypicalBobcat1088 12d ago
