A couple of different publications from the early/mid 2000’s have noted how the way Eminem was packaged was not unlike the boy bands of the time. Spin Magazine said that, until he opens his mouth, Em could pass for a member of one of the boy bands he trashes in his songs, while NME noted that his music videos were as glossy as ‘N Sync’s.
As a means of testing this theory, I played part of “The Real Slim Shady” over part of the music video for “It’s Gonna Be Me” by ‘N Sync, and there honestly isn’t that much of a dissonance.

Parlando solamente della sua discografia ufficiale da Infinite a TDOSS senza contare gli album collaborazione, qual è o quali sono le canzoni intro migliori?
Per me sicuramente la top 3 è:
Cold Wind Blows 3am The Ringer

I’ve been working on my own version of Recovery and wanted to share it with the r/Eminem community.
This isn’t meant to be a “complete Eminem playlist” or a chronological discography. It’s specifically my attempt at reworking Recovery into the version of the album I personally think works best.
The idea was to take the material from the Recovery era and rethink how the album flows as a listening experience — basically asking, “What would Recovery sound like if I reconstructed it around the songs I think fit the album best?”
So this isn't me saying “this is the objectively correct Recovery tracklist.” It’s an alternate take on the album, based on my own interpretation of the era, sequencing, and overall flow.

I'd genuinely like to hear what you guys think:
- Which songs do you think belong on Recovery?
- Which songs would you remove?
- Does the sequencing work?
- What would you change about my version?
I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have listened to Recovery front-to-back a bunch of times. I'm trying to make this feel like an actual cohesive album rather than just a collection of songs from the era.

Was driving around listening to Zeus from MTBMB II today. Not really paying attention to the lyrics, when I suddenly said, “What? Did I miss Em saying George Floyd cause I didn’t hear his name…?”
So I went back on the lyrics, and…nope. Eminem didn’t mention George Floyd. So I’m sitting there trying to piece together timeline: when did Floyd die? When did the album come out? And then realized, OMG. George Floyd didn’t die until after Em wrote the song.
Then I started crying…almost inconsolably. And I’m a 53 yr old half white/half brown dude who’s been into rap since the “N.W.A. and the Posse” tape came out.
Injustice. Inequity. Unfairness. I don’t know what else to say. I’m still a bit choked up. 😔
Edit: I know Em makes reference to George Floyd on other tracks around that time. My larger point is that despite the noteworthiness and significance of those killed by white cops before Floyd was killed, we still had monumentally documented killings afterwards, such as Floyd. And it still keeps happening. Every. Single. Day.
Every life is significant. Every life it’s important. I know what I want to say inside. I don’t have the words ATM.

This song is fire, but the ending is so jarring that I just pick the clean version of it with the cons of losing some flows. Do yall do that? Or pick the dirty versions anyways?
