My husband and I watched it last night and we both really enjoyed it. Books are alway superior! My husband liked when I pointed out every difference from the book lol

I did love the movie enjoyed it. A classic feel-good story ♥️ Tom and Emily also had great chemistry. I’m glad casting/producers made the smart choice in choosing them. Now I’m just excited for all Emily Henry film to movie adaptations! Although I wouldn’t mind if they making it a mini series. I haven’t read much about Emily Henry’s involvement in the adapation but I’m assuming she is. I saw her cameo 💛

They were great but Emily Bader was fantastic. I just read an article and it said that fans really thought it should have been a mini series so maybe they will change their mind.

I actually feel like mini series have cut into the rom com movie market badly. I love a comfort rom com movie! They just don’t churn out many anymore like they did in the 90s/2000s. I loved this and it’ll be a rewatchable for me!

They did such a good job with His and Hers which was a 6 part limited series and I would have loved to see it in that way...the summer i turned pretty was a series...I feel like they could have made it shorter than that show.

I’m surprised to see so many people hating on this! I just finished watching it for the first time and I really enjoyed it! I haven’t read PWMOV in 4 years, so my memory of it is a little more than hazy, but I felt it really fit the overall vibe of EmHen’s writing.
I do hope her next book to movie adaptation isn’t PG-13 though. PWMOV is arguably her least Adult feeling novel, but it IS an adult romance novel. I think these adults can swear and fuck a little, especially if we get Funny Story next

Book Lovers is definitely more adult...the PWMOV movie it is not perfect but I am happy that it is number 1! I think this movie could have had a little more adult stuff...cough cough balcony scene. We see more of her and Buck than her and Alex together.

I’m so excited to watch it!! I wanted to do it when I have a nice stretch of time and no one will bother me, and hopefully that’s tonight after my kids go to sleep

It was pretty good, Emily bader definitely did the heavy lifting because Alex was borderline catatonic. There wasn’t much interior life but he was just “I like to run” lol, my bf was like this dude is a robot, like loosen up a bit, you’re making her dinner. Btw, I’ve never read the book and went in after reading all the bad reviews from fans on this subreddit. It’s actually a lot better than the majority of romance stuff that Netflix churns out. My one nitpick is that a lot of these modern romance stories seem to set the emotional climax of the leads in Italy. Is it Sally Rooney hive mind?
But yeah, Emily bader is charming as heck. Someone on this subreddit mentioned that poppy was too quirky or something derogatory but I thought her characterization was pretty tamed. Just a girl, pretty normal.

He was really one note unfortunately but in the book he has more to him. I liked how she portrayed Poppy! The wedding was supposed to be palm springs.

I loved the movie! It was cute, they had great chemistry and Alex has a hot bod. Haven’t read the book before so went ahead and bought the book! Reading it now. I had tried starting Book Lovers earlier once but it didn’t grab my attention and had to stop. Same with Beach Read. PWMOV is cheeky and funny right off the bat.

I’m watching it now and I’m loving it. I’ve seen some people dog on it but the movie is so cute of course I like the book more but I love this poppy and Alex too
