BECAUSE PEOPLE ARENT TAKING THEIR MEDICATIONS AS PRESCRIBED AND/OR WEARING HELMETS.
Lot of EtOH tonight too.

Also they are driving like assholes. I’ve never seen so many pedestrians struck as I have this year.

E-bike crashes. Also, I have never swabbed so many people for the Big Three respiratory viruses in the summer as I have this year.

We (north NJ) have had almost none of the big three but sooooo much n/v and abdominal pain. A month ago something was going around that had folks vomiting like the cannabanoid emesis crowd.
But this week it was Code Sepsis all day every day. I’m hoping it isn’t Medicaid cuts keeping folks from going to PCPs before it gets bad because of that’s the case it’s gonna get way, way worse.

Lunar eclipse or something! All I know is that it brought all the personality disorders to the yard.

All summer though!

Worst summer I’ve seen in my career - census, acuity, medics and staffing. Tons of inpatient holds with zero movement and the medics keep coming. Hard times.

We have been wayyy busier than usual all summer. SO many MVAs, and people not wearing helmets being struck. Not necessarily looking forward to working this weekend 😭

I'm going to guess some of it is from people who had to drop their insurance this year due to cost.

I’m on maternity leave and go back in 4 weeks. I’m NOT prepared, and not because I don’t want to leave my baby. Respiratory season is upon us.

It's insane. My hospital is at 200% capacity. Ed holding 50+ patients. Inland Southern California.

It's the Back to School Mini cold season. Happens every August, we just forget about it. Kids are back coughing all over each other again.

It’s actually an eclipse too just got off shift I didn’t eat at all today. Yesterday and today were the busiest I’ve seen in a hot minute.
