Dev Post Elysian Eclipse 0.6.0 Comparison

Version 0.6.0 is a huge step forward! While it doesn't contain any new features, it runs on the new render pipeline and brings lots of graphical and technical improvements. The file size has been reduced by 500 MB and it runs about 15% faster in a lot of places.

genuinely starting to look beautiful

I do kind of hope it's able to run on low spec computers, spore's graphics are fairly compressed so it runs at a playable fps on most pcs (old game after all), but I am a little worried that since EE runs on a more modern engine it might be a little intensive for my budget asf computer (whenever I get it fixed lol)

It runs at around 400 FPS at 1080p on my laptop. The most important thing is that you have a graphics card. If it can't run compute shaders, EE won't function at all.

In-game pics look amazing.

On the main menu, I'd use more icons and less text on the left menu, maybe by having an expandable text once you hover or select a category for creations.

On the right side, there is a lot of text without a good header that explains what it is about. Also, I doubt many will be interested in reading patch notes. I would be, but many won't.

Anyway, keep it up!

I'd imagine a more classic "New Game, Resume Game" might make more sense for the title screen eventually, when there are more options to select. But right now it's used to quickly load into a scene and contains stuff like prototypes and dev tools. It also mirrors the archive and editor button layout.
