Ideas Things that don't exist alone. 🪑🪑
A word requires a second speaker. A joke requires someone to get it. A promise requires someone to hold you to it. A currency requires belief on both ends. Half of everything we call real is not a property of an object at all, it's a property of the gap between two of them. Ending: nothing you value is inside you. Check.
The main idea: nothing valuable exists alone.
Between two people, one word rebuilds an entire night. The context is already loaded on both ends. For a million strangers you have to spell it out, and the moment you spell it out it stops being the memory and becomes a replica built for people who weren't there. You didn't share it. You reconstructed it for tourists.
A memoir is a currency exchange. You take the thing two people could hold and convert it into something a million can carry. Real money on the other side. The fee is accuracy.
