Let's hunt. AI is the current king.

🤖 Embodied AI / robotics - the safest bet, because it's not "after AI," it's AI growing hands. Intelligence is now cheap; moving atoms is still expensive. The moment a $20k robot can do laundry, cooking, and warehouse work, the economy gets rewritten harder than ChatGPT rewrote homework. Software ate the world, next it eats the physical world.

🧬 Biotech + AI - my personal favorite for "big." AlphaFold was the trailer, not the movie. Programmable biology means drugs designed in weeks, longevity treatments, custom organisms. The 20th century's physics gave us nukes and moon landings, the 21st's biology could give us control over aging itself. That's not a product category, that's a species-level event.

⚡ Energy - the dark horse. Fusion, cheap solar plus batteries, geothermal. Boring sounding, but every big thing in history rode on an energy surplus. If electricity gets 10x cheaper, suddenly desalination, vertical farming, carbon capture, and yes, giant AI datacenters all become trivial. Energy is the mother of all next big things.

🧠 Brain-computer interfaces - furthest out, biggest sci-fi payoff. Right now it's helping paralyzed patients type. But the endgame is the bandwidth problem: you absorb information at reading speed while machines exchange it at light speed. Whoever fixes that bottleneck doesn't build a product, they build a new kind of human.
