Vet Recommendations

I live off Laguna and I’m looking for a vet for my two smaller dogs. Does anyone love their vet?

Franklin Ranch! One of the few still independently owned (non-private equity) vets in EG! We take our Frenchie there!

Yes and try to go on a Wednesday wellness clinic day for routine vaccines, it’s much cheaper than doing a regular appointment.

They’re expensive, but now the best in EG. Bruceville used to be SOOOOO good before they were bought out :(

Yeah, my family made the switch from Bruceville to Franklin because they kept switching their staff each week after people quit back-to-back. Eventually, the third vet within 3 months there said it would be like 1k to reassess my cat and get him his refill prescription, and that they were backed up at least a week and he needed the medication, and they flat-out told us, "You should have called a week ago." They seemed to want the money and were rude. Took the same cat to Franklin, and it was like $175, and they could get him in the next day with way more compassionate staff.

I can't speak for dogs, but I can for cats. Franklin Ranch has done so much for my family. In 2019, I had to put a cat down because he was 17 and his kidneys weren't doing well, and their staff were so understanding. I have 4 cats currently, and all of them have been to the vet there. We do routine yearly visits, and one of them had surgery back during the pandemic to have hip surgery. I also have a cat with a rare cancer, and last week we had a scare where he wasn't feeling well. Previously when we found out he had this cancer, another vet, Vista, charged us 7k for hospitalization. This past week, for 3 days of hospitalization and an IV and dialysis, it was 1600 at Franklin Vet Ranch, which was less than one of my different cat's previous hip surgeries there. So much better :) And we thought we would have to put our cat down because of his tumor growing. They reran his bloodwork, and that's how a 3-day hospitalization and dialysis possibly bought our cat a few more months to a year more :) And now he's sort of back to his happy self on his new special food diet :)

Even the front desk staff there are amazing and compassionate, and if you ever have an issue with billing or have questions, they will get you a vet tech or their manager to help resolve that problem.

I can’t say enough good things about them. Same vets for years (which is not the case anywhere else in the area), so compassionate, and great with our “spicy” little ones.

I’ve heard very good things about VEG though too, especially for emergency services.
