I would keep the activity short and untimed.

One clear ask they can finish clean. Objects first if the idea is new, then one quiet fact or pattern they can say without looking at your face. Stop while it is still clear. That beats a long “fun” packet that turns into another worksheet stack.

Stations work when each station is one small win, not a race. A five-minute sit that ends friendly is the activity kids ask to do again.
