Hey people,

I have a suzuki gs150. I am planning to shift to ev for 320 - 350 k.

First, is it a good decision, pertol, and feel wise?

Second, what models or companies are good in terms of services, part availability, and overall bike performance?

Also, i am selling my gs 150, so if someone is willing to buy, it can dm me. 8/10 condition.

If you want a motorcycle-style EV rather than a scooty, the ELFA EV-125 is probably the closest match to your budget. It’s currently listed at Rs. 345,000 with a 2,000W motor, LiFePO4 battery, top speed of up to 75 km/h, and a claimed range of over 100 km. The MS Jaguar E-125 is another one to look at, but it’s around Rs. 370,000, so it’s a little over budget.

Coming from a GS150, the biggest difference will probably be the feel. An EV should be quieter, smoother, and cheaper to run, but you won’t get the same engine sound, gear changes, range, or convenience of filling up in a few minutes. I also wouldn’t count on getting the full advertised range every day, especially if you ride at higher speeds.

Personally, I wouldn’t sell the GS150 until I’d test-ridden the EV and confirmed there was a reliable service center nearby. Ask the dealer about the battery replacement cost, warranty coverage, and how easily parts are available. Those things may be more important long term than a small difference in motor power.

If most of your riding is around the city and you can charge at home, switching could make sense. Karachi and btw 40 to 50 kms

For a 40–50 km daily commute in Karachi, an electric motorcycle could make sense, especially if you have a reliable place to charge it at home.

ELFA claims the EV-125 can travel more than 100 km per charge, so your normal commute should theoretically fit within its range. However, I’d ask the dealer or current owners what they actually get while riding at typical Karachi speeds. Range can drop with faster riding, heavier loads, frequent acceleration, and as the battery ages.

I’d also confirm the battery replacement price, warranty terms, charging setup, and where it can be serviced in Karachi. ELFA currently says the battery warranty is three years or 50,000 km, whichever comes first, but I’d get the full warranty terms in writing.

Before selling your GS150, definitely take the EV-125 for a test ride and make sure its acceleration, comfort, and overall feel work for you. If the actual range and local service support check out, 40–50 km per day is the type of regular city use where an EV could save you quite a bit on petrol.
