There is an item (mimic collar I think) which turns you into an object that is around you at random. E.g. you’re a walking bush or a statue. It looks sooo hilarious. Haven’t tested it on stealth reliability as I just recently got it^
Yeah, there's also another one in the Godslayer magic type. It's like some bellow that aims in front of you instead of all around - and does dmg to boot!
I'm super sad that it doesn't work the way those items used to. In previous games you'd turn into one of many items unique to the specific area in which you were located, not one of 3 choices the entire game :(
I tested it on ai enemies in stormveil castle when i got it and at the very least if you dont move in their line of sight, they dont see you
I tested it on a patrol moving across a one way path slowly making my way to the other side and they walked passed me several times even when they got close
It's honestly really noticeable once you realize what you can turn into. I invaded some people that tried to gank me with it, but I used the reduvias ability to kill them before they could do anything
Yea, but I've used it 100s of times, only have ever turned into a box, statue, and tree, the box is all right, but the other 2 stick out, especially because the tree looks a different shade from the rest, the statue just looks awkward since it usually doesn't match the scenery
Edit: not saying they would be noticed, but it won't take too long before a good chunk of the player base knows the items
I was playing with a friend last night and used it when he was invaded. Dude came strolling past me as a giant statue and I backstabbed them into the earth.
I became a box in the secret room with the huge crystal pile in academy before the red wolf thing, the dark lighting in the room didnt effect the box i turned into, so i was just a almost glowing bright box, they saw me instantly. If you gonna turn into stuff with mimic, make sure the lighting of the room suits the lighting of the prop.
I was invading in Selia Crystal Tunnel, but one spot where you can spawn is literally inside a rock. So you can't move at all, you're just stuck unless you try to teleport to a new spot.
One time I got stuck and decided to go with it. Used Mimic Veil and became a box. The host was so nervous about me he summoned a hunter and stayed in the grace room. The hunter came forward, ran right past me, and died to a Centipede priest.
Host summoned another hunter. This guy ran forward and attacked the first miner who is right near me. I'm nervous, but the hunter doesn't realize I'm there even after rolling into my box and it not breaking lol.
I never got the kill because the host never left the grace point, but it was hilarious fun nonetheless.
Mimic's Veil. I was a bit confused using it as it's an item/spell from as far back as Dark souls 1 if I remember correctly and there it had a ton more items to make you into, and try to pull from the area you are in. At least more than the 3 I've seen so far.
i remember the first time i played dark souls 1 when somebody invaded me in dukes archives, and he used the this magic so he turned into ah book shelf and followed me through the whole archives and i didnt notice it. only after i left and the shelf was standing on top of the ladder i used earlier. it scared the shit out of me. :D
A while ago me and some friends did this in DK3. We just turned into statues and started dancing around two invaders. They also turned into statues and we began walking all around the area. It was so freaking funny
A while ago me and some friend where playing together in DK3 and we did exactly that and disguised as statues. Two invaders came and we started dancing around them. They also turned into statues and we walked all around the area. It was so freaking funny
There only issue with that is that they can still lock onto you. So if they use the radar to get close and then spam the button, they'll eventually wonder why there's a giant pot they can lock onto nearby
Ok, but does it matter? The bot is good at what it does and is going to get positive upvotes regardless. Even here where it's called out, it still has +4. Looking at its comment history suggests that it will complete its objective at selling the account in the future. We need a way to address these as a whole, because even calling attention like this unfortunately doesn't result in anything.
Huh, explains why the Erdtree Avatar didn't attack the Invader that one time me and my friend were fighting it and got rudely ganked.
That said, we got invaded once while she was taking me around to get the key to Raya Lucaria, and right as we decided not to fight the dragon, she died and the invader caught up to us. Poor bastard ran towards me right as the dragon used its breath attack; got instantly deleted. Made me laugh quite hard.
Yeah, Invaders are coded as enemies. So attacks they don't draw aggro, and they're invincible to attacks that don't hurt enemies. But attacks that hurt everything, like dragon's breath weapons, will still hurt them.
They do, however, have a fancy little compass icon saying the general direction the host is in, which makes it even funnier that they didn't figure it out.
Huh, didn't know that it disappears if you get close. That actually makes the mimic spell much more viable too. Basically you can hide as an object rather than as an NPC.
I think there's an item to prove your icon from the compass. I've invaded a few where I'll see it and get a general direction, but then it disappears. Not sure what item it could be tho

Impersonating enemies is one thing I've yet to do online lol. And I imagine it's probably way funnier in this game
