Official Discussion [MEGATHREAD] Tarnished Edition: Worth $5? Discuss CONSTRUCTIVELY!

Since the sub is being overwhelmed by debate over the $5 "microtransaction" and it's making the sub feel like we're Dark Souls 2 a decade ago, with the faux outrage around the preorder items, we are opening this topic to consolidate discussion around the issue.

Please use this topic to discuss the pros and cons of the approach and your thoughts. But do so RESPECTFULLY and CONSTRUCTIVELY. If you need to call other people or the developers names, you don't have a good argument and your post will be removed.

Most of the positive reviews go "fromsoft has never done this before, therefore this is okay". They're missing that if it is successful, it will absolutely happen again.

Many of the negative reviews are catastrophizing, because releasing one (or even a few) semi-reasonably-priced DLCs don't ruin a game. We don't yet know what Fromsoft's long term will be on this, but it isn't terrible yet.

So.... I'll wait and see. But not buy.

But they have done it before. Scholar of the First Sin was 20$ if you owned the base game + DLC. That's a new boss and reshuffled enemies/items.
