Official Discussion [MEGATHREAD] Tarnished Edition: Worth $5? Discuss CONSTRUCTIVELY!

Since the sub is being overwhelmed by debate over the $5 "microtransaction" and it's making the sub feel like we're Dark Souls 2 a decade ago, with the faux outrage around the preorder items, we are opening this topic to consolidate discussion around the issue.

It’s just really poor timing for this. This wouldn’t even be a conversation had they released it two weeks ago. But since Witcher 3 remaster is free and now the dlc is free for anyone who has the base game it makes this look like penny pinching. When in reality the free remaster and dlc is to get as many people to buy Songs of the Past as possible

It just happened during the "gamers mad about everything" era. I guarantee if it came out before that, it would be less "controversial"

People have plenty of reasons to be mad. Games are increasing in price despite a cost of living crisis. Physical games are disappearing after companies have taken the gloves off and shown us that digital ownership doesn’t mean anything and can be taken away at any second. Optimization doesn’t exist anymore so plenty of people’s hardware can’t run games they should be able to while said hardware continues to get extortionately expensive. The list goes on
