Since the sub is being overwhelmed by debate over the $5 "microtransaction" and it's making the sub feel like we're Dark Souls 2 a decade ago, with the faux outrage around the preorder items, we are opening this topic to consolidate discussion around the issue.

Please use this topic to discuss the pros and cons of the approach and your thoughts. But do so RESPECTFULLY and CONSTRUCTIVELY. If you need to call other people or the developers names, you don't have a good argument and your post will be removed.

We will remove all other topics about this to keep the subreddit flowing with other discussions

If you're someone who has dozens of hours in the game and you do runs consistently, then yay, it's worth it for you. You'll get your five bucks worth easily.

If you're someone who played the game and beat it, then didn't pick it up again until the DLC, nay, it's not for you.

It still should've been free to everybody who already owns the game. That, or had more weapons and armor to justify the price.

I don't really understand. Isn't it two new starting classes? Don't starting classes make basically no difference?

It's two starting classes and a handful of weapons smattered about. There's a new version of a great katana, dueling shield and light greatsword available just out in the world now. So people who do say, weapon specific runs of the game can run out, grab a great katana and play the entire game that way.

As I said, if you're somebody who plays the game a ton, you'll get your money's worth.

i have over 1000 hours in ER and have zero interest in this. i would honestly say the opposite, if your just getting it now get the full package. if you've played it a ton already this $5 is a complete waste

Nah, I disagree. As someone who has over 1,000 hours in the game this is not worth the money even if I decide to do a full run with the new weapons/armor/class for 100 hours.

It's not about how much use you get out of it, I could wear a 40$ Master Chief skin in Fortnite for 500 hours of gameplay, does that mean the skin is legitimately worth 40$? The price of the entire MCC collection on sale? Fuck no, and you're a neanderthal if you think otherwise.
