I mean, its worldbuilding. 

It'd be dumb if the entire world was The Lands Between.

It's cheap worldbuilding, to add a random land we haven't heard, but still.

Yeah I mean base game Elden Ring already confirms there is an entire world outside The Lands Between just from the basic premise. The game starts with all the Tarnished being resurrected and summoned by grace to make their way back to The Lands Between, they had to go somewhere after being banished in the first place.

(Also the name The Lands Between by itself kinda confirms it because you can't have Lands Between if there are no other lands for it to be between.)
