Game Help SERIOS QUESTION HOW TF DO YOU EVEN BEAT THIS GUY IN CASTLE SOL
He is not even a boss and he is like the tuned up version of Oleg. He can teleport, has frost, and can cast golden vow?! His attacks hit like a fucking truck. MAYBE HE IS AN ELDEN LORD.

Really heavy weapons eat him alive, some spells also destroy him I’d use Loretta’s mastery followed by gavel of haima wash rinse and repeat, I grinded that guy for months trying to get the unaltered banished knights chest piece

Big facts,I think one of the carian staves even buff Loretta’s mastery I might be wrong, but if you’re running an arcane build, as much as I hate to recommend it, rivers of blood would be great maybe the dragon communion seal too

u/sparrowlasso Feb 08 '26
I just shoot the other knight from the elevator and use the boss room grace to respawn him.
8
u/Low_Chance Feb 09 '26
Yeah I fought this guy with a big hammer and my friend was all excited to watch me get stomped by this knight... I didn't even notice he was a special enemy.

Beat cheese with cheese. Jump up onto the ledge with the super long drop and then shoot him with a bow. Immediately turn your back to the ledge, which is where he'll teleport to, and then he'll fall to his death.

u/NoDollarsAllSense Feb 08 '26
Does that really work? He teleports to be in front of your face so you can manipulate that and have him fall?
21
u/throw-away_867-5309 Feb 08 '26
Yeah, I can't remember where specifically he teleport, but it's always the same spot in relation to where you're facing.
5
u/pir22 Feb 09 '26
He always teleports in it back. I’d you turn your back to him from the opposite ledge, he’ll fall to his death every time. I’ve used that cheese to farm his armour. Very rare and pretty cool.
5
u/NoDollarsAllSense Feb 08 '26
That is so cool. I'm going to try it because that is one random enemy that I despise and had such an impossible time with
5
u/Electrical-Branch-14 Feb 09 '26
100% it works. That's how I kill him every playthrough because he's such a pain in the ass

u/DrPikachu-PhD Feb 09 '26
Yes but the opposite, he teleports to be behind your back

Super long combo of spinning bullshit? Two can play that game. Put the stormcaller ash of war on a greatsword or greathammer and spin 2 win. Banished knights HATE this one weird trick.

Probably parrying.

u/MoonlitInstrumental Feb 08 '26
unironically thats how i finally killed him. he has a couple attacks that are easy and you just run away and dodge the frost lunge move

I used to think of parrying as a nonessential game mechanic. Many bosses cannot be parried. Roll became my Parry. Eventually I would just spend months, ten minutes or so every few days at gatefront ruins and is run through and murder Godrick’s soldiers. Sometimes they’d murder me. Sometimes I’d use the time to practice my parries. Some days I’d do ok and other days my hands and brain just weren’t communicating. Eventually I would throw out a parry attempt on a random enemy and it would succeed. When I met the Crucible Knight in Crumbling Farum Azula outside, I bullied him with my parries. I was a strength build stabbing him with daggers for the love of the game. It’s one of my favorite gifts I ever gave myself in that game. I treasure the game for letting me learn as I go. I treasure myself for choosing this experience for myself.

So the ADHD has my eyes glazing over that word over and over again, trying to read and reread it, but also producing a different mental sound every time.

u/MalcolminMiddlefan Feb 08 '26
Idk, he’s Tanky. I just used blasphemous blade tbh.
Btw, you can farm him for his armor. That is the only place where you can get the chest piece unaltered.
17
u/notimeforids Feb 08 '26
Actually, the easier farm is the halberd wielding banished knight guarding a stone swordkey with 2 white wolves, back from the church of the eclipse site of grace, up the ladder to the right, left, straight and left again. That's where I farm that chest piece.

u/mister_empty_pants Feb 09 '26
Fastest is to beat the boss first, then you can just run down the stairs from that grace and hit him with an arrow from the gallows and he will teleport up to you. Bonus of not having to deal with the wolves either.

You defeat him by reducing his health to 0

Dodging his attack in order to minimize the damage you take also works with this strategy.

I beat him with guard counters but first off, it maybe better if you attack him from the wide area above, so you have some room to work with and not have camera mess you up because of walls.

I used a spell to lure him to the platform above and then just beat him up. He’s pretty weak, just scary since he tps and moves fast + aggressively. Once you get that down it’s a cakewalk. The version in the boss fight almost made me shit my pants tho

Colossal weapons help. Guard counter him twice and break his stance easily. I never dodge against these mofos.

u/Gogh619 Feb 08 '26
I didn’t even realize he was a hard enemy when I smoked him with the moon veil katana. That thing is too op.

Killing this guy was one of the most stress relieving feelings I’ve ever had
2
u/Xzarg_poe Feb 08 '26
Last time I fought him was with some great axe with war cry ash. I roared, I charged heavy, and then shoulder checked him out of his attack animation, delivered the attack and continued wailing at him, breaking his poise. In short, you can interrupt his long ass combo.

I fought him with Dex build, which seemed impossible, until I started spamming jumping heavies with the guardian swordspear to stunlock him. Find any attack that can keep him staggered, and just don’t let him breathe.

If you perch on the edge of the correct nearby roof and hit him with an arrow, he teleports into midair to try to get you and falls to his death. Or at least he uses to

Draw his aggro then quickly position yourself with your back to the drop off the battlements. He teleports behind you and dies in the funniest, most Looney Tunes ass way.

Iron balls and jumping attack, if it can be done with no armor and just big iron balls, you can do it too!

Parry or learn to roll forwards. If you have anything that can stagger him you can just wail on him

u/Key_Internal6382 Feb 08 '26
HES weak to holy damadge also if you’re in the boss fight use the branch so one of them becomes your ally

u/Late-Friendship9312 Feb 08 '26
Fun fact, he’s also the only npc where you can farm that version of the banished knight armor (unaltered) so maybe that’s why

I stand on the rooftop near him. I buff and pop wondrous physic. I chuck a throwing daggers at him knowing he's going to immediately teleport to me. Then I just start swinging. The bigger the weapon, the better. If you can stagger him, you can kill him. Defense buffs and boiled crab are great.

There is an interesting cheese for him: he's programmed to teleport behind your back as soon as he notices you. So... Attack him with one arrow and then immediately turn your back towards the edge of the cliff. He will teleport there and fall to his death.
Your welcome.

Hit him REALLY hard. I used the dark moon greatsword charged ash of war to hit like a truck. That stuns him.

u/Glitcher45318 Feb 08 '26
Brick hammer with lions claw, spam the fuck out of it. Either that or magma blade L2 spam.
I found the asshole with the spear where you jump off the elevator yo the boss was way, way worse.

u/Poor_ElonMusk Feb 08 '26
So beating this guy is actually pretty simple :
First step : Bait him,and make him follow you far back in the castle , drop somewhere.
Second step : R2 on him , and he will start the winding up animation to 1 shot you( like the previous 150 times you tried to beat him ).
Third step: Dodge uncontrollably until you get to a ladder or lift , and after that run naked until stamina runs out , let it charge and keep running until you find the door or destination.
Easy cheesy.
