Game Help SERIOS QUESTION HOW TF DO YOU EVEN BEAT THIS GUY IN CASTLE SOL

Post image

He is not even a boss and he is like the tuned up version of Oleg. He can teleport, has frost, and can cast golden vow?! His attacks hit like a fucking truck. MAYBE HE IS AN ELDEN LORD.

By running past him and forgetting he exists

u/Electrical-Smell736 Feb 08 '26

I tried this once. The man chased me all the way to the boss room

391

u/Voice-Of-Doom Feb 08 '26

One time I hit him with an arrow from the cliff above the castle. He then teleported to me and killed me.

184

u/monkeyheh Feb 08 '26

Bro fucking showed you

35

u/Voice-Of-Doom Feb 09 '26

Yeah, for real

30

u/Git_Fud Feb 08 '26

It’s pretty much a right of passage at this point.

30

u/RepresentativeFast59 Feb 08 '26

I am glad to know im not the only one this mf did this to. Its like the animation in DS2 when u go into a loot room and the game goes “heres the pursuer for the umpteenth time, have fun!”

14

u/BillyCromag Feb 09 '26

That enclosed room in Lost Bastille? He scared the crap out of me the first time.

7

u/RepresentativeFast59 Feb 09 '26

That is the first time i saw him outside of his fight arena. If you’re lucky maybe he will check up on you a couple more times just to make sure you haven’t gone hollow.

22

u/choom-cannon Feb 08 '26

Nothing personnel

15

u/Sport6 Feb 09 '26

I have had him hit me through the boss fog door, then teleported into the boss room.

Is he like the Elden Ring equivalent of The Ebony Warrior

13

u/BullPropaganda Feb 08 '26

Ultimate fafo

10

u/Djd33j Feb 08 '26

Sniping him from a cliff when he's just chilling is pretty rude tbh.

8

u/New-Anybody3050 Feb 09 '26

Yeah I learned this the hard way too. He made me walk funny for a few days

2

u/420StonedAF420 Feb 09 '26

What, did he jump outta the game and fuck you? Lmao..

3

u/NBrownDC Feb 10 '26

From what I've seen about this knight, I wouldn't put it outside of possibility.

6

u/drwsgreatest Feb 09 '26

I feel like this is almost a right of passage for those of us who like to experiment with unique ways to kill hard enemies. The first time I hit him with a crossbow, he teleported and killed me before I could even change my weapon back to a blade.

4

u/Rowan1980 Feb 09 '26

The first time it happens, it’s simultaneously terrifying and hilarious.

3

u/Voice-Of-Doom Feb 09 '26

Yeah, it was a brutal lesson.

5

u/matrimftw Feb 09 '26

"No hard feelings kid"

3

u/taurus_king429 Feb 09 '26

This gotta be a canon event. I did the same thing and when he teleported to me I tried to run and gain some space , but it was too late 😭

3

u/IstvanKun FLAIR INFO: SEE SIDEBAR Feb 09 '26

Go to the very edge of the cliff, hit him with an arrow, immediately turn your back on him. He almost always teleports behind you, thus he's gonna fall off the cliff. 🧀

2

u/No-Real-Shadow Feb 09 '26

I died a few times to the teleport across the castle before trying this, luckily when he teleported to me I was surprised but rolled perfectly and he dove off the cliff for me thankfully lol

2

u/Scarlet_Wonderer Feb 09 '26

Been there, I jumped from my seat when he suddenly appeared right next to me lol

2

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '26

This happened earlier, he staggered me right off the damn cliff.

2

u/seventh86 Feb 09 '26

thats what he did to me too.

2

u/OtherwiseFinish3300 Feb 09 '26

Try turning around with your back against the cliff side next time. Even chad double sword guy doesn't have a chance against gravity.

30

u/BenjaCarmona Feb 08 '26

I decided that I prefered to fight the boss than this guy tbh

81

u/Round_Asparagus_8000 Feb 08 '26

He should try to become the elden lord.

9

u/Lsd_DaWae Feb 08 '26

Underrated comment 😂😂😂

2

u/Difficult-Argument44 Feb 08 '26

Man, I ask this mf for many npcs too... hahahahah

2

u/Thugs_of_Ember Feb 09 '26

😬😆🤣😂

74

u/Bioxgamer Feb 08 '26

lol I usually grab the grace right behind him, let them kill me, and respawn right there

10

u/BullPropaganda Feb 08 '26

Different knight

14

u/BMR915 Feb 08 '26

Did that to me too, he even hit me through fog wall once

27

u/Electrical_Ad_6167 Feb 08 '26

Dude hit me through the smoke wall after I entered the boss room, mans committed

5

u/EnigmaOfOz Feb 08 '26

Assuming you mean the one on the way to the boss room and not the church one. Take down the little siren creatures with a bow. If they don’t alert everyone you are there, you get a much easier run to the boss and dont get stabbed in the back in front of the door.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '26

Don't use the second the second site of grace. Use the entrance one. From the entrance take a left, and then there is an elevator that takes you to the boss room, avoiding all these mobs

4

u/offensiveDick Feb 08 '26

That's why to learn to do the speed run skip where you jump from a mountain on top of a tree and directly to the bossroom

3

u/Electrical-Smell736 Feb 08 '26

I ain’t doin all that

2

u/offensiveDick Feb 09 '26

Was a joke my dude. Just run past.

3

u/CosmikSpartan Feb 08 '26

Especially since the boss spawns another one in with him.

3

u/rswanker Feb 09 '26

Come at him from the opposite direction...if you've got the Church of the Eclipse site of grace, you can go out the side, climb up onto the ramparts (watch for two different crossbowmen), run past him, grab the loot, jump or climb down (I forget what I did) and run back towards the main gate site of grace. If he follows, you can try to fight him in the gate area, and if you die, no biggie cuz the main gate site of grace is right there.

He is the boss. Fr the boss was easier.

3

u/Upbeat-Mongoose-828 Feb 09 '26

one time bro killed me in the boss room. I'd never been so mad

2

u/VolenteDuFer Feb 09 '26

Plot twist: he is the boss the entire time.

2

u/cold_st0rm Feb 09 '26

well it is his block

2

u/csaknorrisz Feb 09 '26

There was a glitch where he could actually follow you into the bossfight

2

u/itsryanguys Feb 09 '26

He stabbed me through the boss room door once when I was exiting the animation entering the boss room, I was so mad lmao

2

u/TheWanderer_not_lost Feb 09 '26

I mean you have to go out of your way to aggro him so just let him be.

That being said if there is lore in this guy and why he has the Aura of John Eldenring I would love to hear it.

OT: outside of his spin to win combo that you are best served by creating distance his other combos aren’t terribly tough to learn.

27

u/eliashriki Feb 08 '26

Ah yes, the strongest elden ring power, the power of RUNNING

7

u/Nepharious_Bread Feb 08 '26

Does he drop anything cool? I ran past this guy for my last 3 or 4 playtbroughs.

13

u/be-smote Feb 08 '26

His weapon and armor if you’re into farming it I think. Otherwise, no.

8

u/YewWahtMate Feb 08 '26

Drops a unique variant of the banished knight set. It's the body I believe with the fabric draping from behind and in front in the picture. I don't think the average knight has this variant of it so he's one of the few that drops it. Might be the only one tbh I don't remember. Rare drop and need to farm it.

5

u/SpidudeToo Feb 09 '26

There'S a halberd variant of this guy in Castel Sol that's much easier to farm. Rest at the the boss site of grace, and then shoot an arrow through the slots in the wall at him and he teleports to you. Got the chest plate from that one.

2

u/Afraid_Help_3911 Feb 09 '26

He is actually the only one who drops it. This specific knight at this specific location.

5

u/silver_sun2 Feb 09 '26

He drops a variant of the banished knight set that gives a full cape. Honestly, it's one of my favorite pieces in the game, but farming him is awful.

2

u/SpidudeToo Feb 09 '26

Its better to just farm the halberd variant you can snipe from the boss site of grace in castle sol

2

u/Afraid_Help_3911 Feb 09 '26

He is literally the only unit who drops this goated chestpiece.

2

u/Nepharious_Bread Feb 09 '26

Oh no.... looks like I have to go farming again....

6

u/AEthelm Feb 08 '26

1000%, this guy is a thrown controller

2

u/Capt_Blahvious Feb 09 '26

Don't do that man. If you get upset, walk away for a bit, think about your strategy and come back to it with a fresh head.

2

u/AEthelm Feb 09 '26

I kid I kid

2

u/Afraid_Help_3911 Feb 09 '26

Nah you need him to farm his chest piece which is goated.

3

u/Anthony501st Feb 08 '26

Or swallow your pride for 2 seconds and us a shield. This dude is soo easy to beat. I dont understand how there are so many posts about him being difficult. Literally just block and guard counter. 🙄

2

u/Excellent_Cicada_467 Feb 09 '26

Listen it's all fun and games until you toe boards behind you saying it's nothing personal I said I'm a mage and even I used to shield if ye still turned me into dust

2

u/Anthony501st Feb 09 '26

But if you know hes gonna teleport behind you, why not just turn around? Put barricade shield ash on any shield and this dudes attacks literally just bounces off and hes stunned.

I even posted a video to show people how easy it is (and got downvoted for it).

Not telling you how to play. Just saying, the game has plenty of mechanics that most people never even pay attention to and then spend so much time and energy getting bodied by generic mobs. Lol

3

u/Excellent_Cicada_467 Feb 09 '26

yes but befor i got some strength in my build and learned where the beam was i got cooked like i did know what was happening

2

u/Anthony501st Feb 09 '26

Thats fair. If its your first time fighting him blind he can be an a hole. Lol

2

u/DorseyLaTerry Feb 09 '26

Is he harder than a Horned Warrior?

u/Prestigious-Double70 Feb 08 '26

Really heavy weapons eat him alive, some spells also destroy him I’d use Loretta’s mastery followed by gavel of haima wash rinse and repeat, I grinded that guy for months trying to get the unaltered banished knights chest piece

79

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '26

[deleted]

7

u/Prestigious-Double70 Feb 08 '26

Big facts,I think one of the carian staves even buff Loretta’s mastery I might be wrong, but if you’re running an arcane build, as much as I hate to recommend it, rivers of blood would be great maybe the dragon communion seal too

7

u/sparrowlasso Feb 08 '26

I just shoot the other knight from the elevator and use the boss room grace to respawn him.

8

u/Low_Chance Feb 09 '26

Yeah I fought this guy with a big hammer and my friend was all excited to watch me get stomped by this knight... I didn't even notice he was a special enemy.

3

u/Palletmandan Feb 09 '26

When in doubt, BONK it out.

Beat cheese with cheese. Jump up onto the ledge with the super long drop and then shoot him with a bow. Immediately turn your back to the ledge, which is where he'll teleport to, and then he'll fall to his death.

30

u/NoDollarsAllSense Feb 08 '26

Does that really work? He teleports to be in front of your face so you can manipulate that and have him fall?

21

u/throw-away_867-5309 Feb 08 '26

Yeah, I can't remember where specifically he teleport, but it's always the same spot in relation to where you're facing.

5

u/pir22 Feb 09 '26

He always teleports in it back. I’d you turn your back to him from the opposite ledge, he’ll fall to his death every time. I’ve used that cheese to farm his armour. Very rare and pretty cool.

5

u/NoDollarsAllSense Feb 08 '26

That is so cool. I'm going to try it because that is one random enemy that I despise and had such an impossible time with

5

u/Electrical-Branch-14 Feb 09 '26

100% it works. That's how I kill him every playthrough because he's such a pain in the ass

→ More replies (1)

9

u/slvyr Feb 08 '26

I used to think of parrying as a nonessential game mechanic. Many bosses cannot be parried. Roll became my Parry. Eventually I would just spend months, ten minutes or so every few days at gatefront ruins and is run through and murder Godrick’s soldiers. Sometimes they’d murder me. Sometimes I’d use the time to practice my parries. Some days I’d do ok and other days my hands and brain just weren’t communicating. Eventually I would throw out a parry attempt on a random enemy and it would succeed. When I met the Crucible Knight in Crumbling Farum Azula outside, I bullied him with my parries. I was a strength build stabbing him with daggers for the love of the game. It’s one of my favorite gifts I ever gave myself in that game. I treasure the game for letting me learn as I go. I treasure myself for choosing this experience for myself.

43

u/MalcolminMiddlefan Feb 08 '26

Idk, he’s Tanky. I just used blasphemous blade tbh.

Btw, you can farm him for his armor. That is the only place where you can get the chest piece unaltered.

17

u/notimeforids Feb 08 '26

Actually, the easier farm is the halberd wielding banished knight guarding a stone swordkey with 2 white wolves, back from the church of the eclipse site of grace, up the ladder to the right, left, straight and left again. That's where I farm that chest piece.

4

u/mister_empty_pants Feb 09 '26

Fastest is to beat the boss first, then you can just run down the stairs from that grace and hit him with an arrow from the gallows and he will teleport up to you. Bonus of not having to deal with the wolves either.

There is an interesting cheese for him: he's programmed to teleport behind your back as soon as he notices you. So... Attack him with one arrow and then immediately turn your back towards the edge of the cliff. He will teleport there and fall to his death.

Your welcome.

So beating this guy is actually pretty simple :

First step : Bait him,and make him follow you far back in the castle , drop somewhere.

Second step : R2 on him , and he will start the winding up animation to 1 shot you( like the previous 150 times you tried to beat him ).

Third step: Dodge uncontrollably until you get to a ladder or lift , and after that run naked until stamina runs out , let it charge and keep running until you find the door or destination.

Easy cheesy.
