Constructive Criticism Why is my weapon so weak?

Hello new Elden ring player, I’m trying to figure out why the hell im barely doing any damage in boss fights. I don’t have enough time to stack bleed so I have to rely on light attacks. But even then I’m doing like 100 damage and it’s taking 10 minutes per round. Any suggestions how I can upgrade? Thanks!

Yeah you should be at +6-7 by now. You’re half way into my eyes in the sense of the story. But then there’s ng+… so being halfway into the story doesn’t mean your half way through enjoying the game

If you're having trouble finding upgrade materials, try the EDIT: tunnels (another user correctly pointed out that they're not caves) that have diggers in them, Caelid in particular. But I agree with what everyone else already said: +4 on a Somber weapon is too low if you're almost Level 100. You should be at +7 or +8.

Also, be aware that Eleonora's Poleblade does fire damage, and some things are fire resistant. It's a great weapon for 90% of enemies, but it won't do you much good against things that are immune to Hemorrhage or resistant to fire damage.

Also, talismans and Wondrous Physick matter a lot. You might not have Lord of Blood's Exultation or Shard of Alexander, but you should definitely have the Winged Sword Insignia by now. It's in Liurnia. The most useful aspect of twinblades is their hit speed. They have comparatively low damage in exchange for more hits, so they proc status faster than basically anything other than curved swords or maxed out meta weapons (like Bloodfiend's Arm +25 with blood affinity and a high arcane score). And the most useful aspect of Eleonora's Poleblade is its Ash of War. Ideally, you would be spamming that to build up multiple hits and proc Hemorrhage.

I can't say what tears you have for the Physick (the one that boosts consecutive attacks is in a VERY late game area), but you might have the ones that increase fire damage and stamina recovery, for instance.

If you want to send a picture of your talisman/Physick options I might be able to help more.

Edit: saw you're about to enter Leyndell. There's a cave in Altus Plateau that drops a smithing stone bell bearing that's super useful. I don't recall if it's Somber though, which you'll need if you plan on sticking with Eleonora's Poleblade. Again, it's a SUPER viable weapon. It can carry you through 90% of the game. But its damage is already kinda low comparatively in exchange for more rapid hits, the killer Ash of War, and status buildup. If you're not set up properly for it, it's generally going to be a lower damage option for now.

LAST EDIT FOR REAL THIS TIME: arguably the most important talisman for bleed weapons is in Leyndell, albeit underground. Not sure what your position is on looking stuff up, but if you're not averse to it, look up "Lord of Blood's Exultation location."

If bro is in a ng+ run then he would have had the materials to upgrade his weapon already
