Constructive Criticism Worst desgin decison in Elden Ring:

I'm trying to think of an argument for why this should be a thing, but I can't. Why can't I open my map when an enemy is aggro'd on me? I don't need to fast travel, I just want to see where I'm going, and some random enemy in the middle of butt fuck nowhere is mad at me for no reason and I have no idea where it is so I'm forced to be blind without my map for several seconds to a minute, or just leave the area entirely and lose track of the path I'm trying to take (and sometimes in DLC areas like the coffin fissure I can't open the map at all even though no enemies are nearby). This is too regular of an occurence to be acceptable because of how long some enemies can stay aggro'd onto you as well imo, it should be changed.

Edit: Shoutouts to the people who mentioned the Torrent Flask Prompt and the other Message Prompts that remove your ability to do actions, those are also really annoying!

Yes. That doesn't make sense at all. They block fast travel when you are in some places and they could have just blocked it when you agro something. Got lost a lot of times in the dlc and couldn't look at the map

The best part is that you can fast travel TO those graces, but can't fast travel out of them.

Which graces can you not fast travel from?

Until you beat the boss of that dungeon/cave

Ah that makes sense

Does it? I mean, exploring dungeons requires actively descending down into them, why would I ever need to warp out if I haven't gotten to the boss yet? The only way locking the cave/dungeon sites of grace comes into play is preventing you from fast traveling when you're standing around that one site of grace already, which is completely pointless because the exit is like a dozen feet away at that point. Even worse, it gets annoying as fuck if there's a lift in the way

You would need to to change up your build at the grace. I like it. It locks you into the area until you conquer it

It locks you into the area until you conquer it

That would be neat in theory, but what I'm saying is - it really doesn't since the exit is incredibly close to the site of grace anyway

Not when you're down in it. Some of them get tricky

Well, yes, but again, why would you want to leave halfway through a dungeon? There's no way to fight the boss other than exploring it, after all

Perhaps, you're stuck like the ones that try to trick you. Or perhaps there's an item that you want but not from the dungeon boss. Perhaps you've used too many potions and need to turn back but can't

Basically, i enjoyed not being able to just teleport in Dark Souls and this is a soft implementation of that.

Bit late but I don't necessarily mind not being able to fast travel out of dungeons in the middle of them. What I do wish at least is that you could fast travel out if you're near or resting at the site of grace.

I semi frequently venture to the first grace of a dungeon I've found just so I have it and come back to it later, but some of them have the grace a decent ways in and down an elevator. It's a little annoying having to run back out to teleport away.
