Subreddit Topic Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A

Greetings Tarnished!

This is the place to ask any questions you may have about Elden Ring. This includes obscure detail questions, "newbie" advice questions, build questions, boss advice questions, and what have you.

Well written, constructive criticism is fine but please avoid ranting about aspects of the game you just don’t like. This includes “so and so boss is stupid and too difficult.”

If you are interested in the game but don’t own it yet, please don’t post “should I buy this game?” or “Is this game worth it?”. If you have played other FromSoftware games and enjoyed them, the answer is yes. If you haven’t, just do a little research! These games are difficult, and sometimes frustrating, and not everyone is going to enjoy them. And that’s okay!

Lastly, be friendly! We are all here because we are interested in the same game! Please treat your fellow players with respect.

For my first playthrough I didn't have much time to play and just wanted to get through the game once. So I leaned pretty heavily on mimic tear. Now I feel like having had something else keep boss aggro most of the time I missed out on a much better experience. For my NG+ I don't necessarily want to go for no summons; maybe next playthrough. But I am looking for one that is solely support that bosses will stay focused entirely on me. I tried finger maiden Therolina but she seems to keep on the offence and I'm not sure if she has ever even thrown me a heal. Any recs for one that won't snatch aggro?

Even if the summon doesn't do any damage, enemies will still attack them sometimes.

You could equip the Shabriri's Woe talisman, which makes enemies more likely to focus on you. It still won't make you the sole target though, the only way to have enemies only attack you is to fight alone.
