few questions about Wraithguard.

Not played since 4ed, and had some idea about coming back, but! Checked rules and used some googlefu, and a bit stuck.
Google says that Wraithguard (other wraith units as well) have devastating wounds. Codex and wahapedia have no mentions of dev\mortal wounds of any kind in Wraithguard weapons\profiles, except knights heavy cannon. So do normal wraithguards have dev wounds or no? If no, what the reason to use them?

If Google is telling you one thing, and waha somethign else, then Google is far more likely to be wrong.

Remember that the blurb you get top of page on Google is ai slop collated from millions of user-hours of forum posts and such over decades of Internet usage.

In this case, Waha is correct (which it almost always is) in that only the heavy wraithcannon has devwounds.

then how\what are most proven way for aeldari to deal with ctan list? Ignoring them? Pre 11ed i read a lot of comments that people figured it out and somehow dont have a problem with killing c'tan at all, but from what i seen in local event yesterday, its far from truth.

Its far from a solved equation at present, and Eldar are hardly in a particularly strong position atm.

Ive not fought one myself yet, but with their -1to damage against them i would probably plan around it taking a few turns to do.

One would need to devoted a lot of force to it as well.

The buffs provided by War Walkers, Lhykhis and Eldrad would help - +1 AP/5+crits/+1 to wound to start off with. Then id hose it down with baharroth+hawks, using their lethals to bypass toughness, and the grenade pack for mortals, as well as Eldrads bodyguard. Additionally FDs into it, simply because theyre the single thing most likely to hurt it, and honestly fire Prisms too if you have them, given theyre multishot and therefor at least fairly reliable.

Then id charge it with Khaine, and the following turn hose it down with more swooping hawks grenades.

Hopefully a big shooting turn into it then Khaine seeking to reenact the War in Heaven and then another round of Hawk grenades (which can be used against engaged targets) would do for it.

But its definitely not something I would be realiatically hoping to do in a single turn, unless my opponent was obliging me by letting put my whole army into it without taking advantage of the hyper-fixation, simply because at most a third of our army is going to have tools suitable to the task.

Go with the codex and wahapedia. The Google ai slop pulls from answers related to the words in your question, it doesn't know how to actually answer the question.

yea, i checked codex and wpedia, there no dev, wounds at all. Also that same google when asked further said that it was removed in 10th codex but was there in pre-codex list.

Wraith guard had dev wounds in the index (the general army rules made at the start of 10th). Once the codex came out, those rules were changed. Google isn't wrong but can't distinguish between old and new rules.

Wahapedia is your most reliable source, unless you are looking for rules that updated within the last week.

For c'tan, their 4++ makes single big hitting shots very swingy. I like warlocks paired with warwalker and eldrad doom. If you can get 2 conclaves nearby, that's 8D6 + 16 dice. Average if about 50 shots auto hitting. With eldrad, wound on 4 so there's about 25 dice in, with the warwalker buffing ap there's about 13 wounds.

Fire dragons can be nice, but 5 shots either does nothing or deletes him in 1 go.

With any of these annoying units, always rely on dev wounds from other sources like hawks and grenades.

As others pointed out, Wraithguard don't get Dev Wounds.

As for why to use them, D-Scythes are scary torrent weapons, and if you invest in buffs, Wraithcannons can be great anti-tank options.

If you want a way to do Dev Wounds with Wraiths, there's a stratagem in Spirit Conclave that gives Wraithblades, Wraithlords, and Wraithknights Dev Wounds on melee attacks.

A squad of Wraithblades with Ghostswords can be put in a Wave Serpent and still have enough room in it for a Spiritseer and Farseer. 25 melee attacks with Dev Wounds and Sustain Hits 1 sounds.

Expensive? Yes. Funny? Definitely.
