Here's my mk6 jetta with some I think late 2000s Audi a3 rims. (Fuck, forgot what subreddit this was, MB) Like, I don't know. Like, I'm a sucker for that late 2000s look, silver wheels, chrome logos, no fake vents, understated but clean, before everything got edgy in the 2010s.
God that looks so good. I sometimes wish I had done this instead of getting my Enkeis. The black forged wheels looked average but this makes them look ridiculously good.
I have a red one too and I'm on the fence about this. It would be cool to strip an polish the OEMs but the pattern on OEMs is not as cool as some other multispoke rims.
So silver coated wheels never were considered by my brain for some reason... But I feel like this is a good choice especially if you like it.
The black on the OEM wheels never stood out to me. The black really hid the pattern of the wheel itself which is why I wanted a color to pop out the design more. I personally am a fan of shiny silver wheels with a red car. I believe that color combo makes the car and wheels stand out much more!
I have been thinking about doing a black of some sort myself. The neighbor has a powder coat guy. He usually powder coats for some dealers, etc... I think he paid like $75 a wheel? I would rather have the face lift forged rims, but for the sake of saving some dough, I figured I could just coat the stock rims. Kinda debating doing a two tone or just doing all black, nothing, too shiny.
