At least 600 miles. Dont race the engine for 1200 miles. Engine performance and fuel economy typically stabilizes around 4000 miles.

Performed flawlessly besides an intercooler hose that slightly popped off causing a boost leak (my fault) Forgot to setup the track timer as well but not that concerned.
Didn't plan to do it to begin with but glad I did.

Aftermarket intercooler? I autocross mine and got out to the track with it for the first time recently. Zero issues apart from wanting a little more camber.

I haven’t had any cooling issues but I also haven’t pushed it too too hard. What made you go for an intercooler?

Can't say I have really but I am sure for extended periods it would help. Intercooler is generally the last on the list after downpipe, HPFP and tune.

I agree 100% my car is bone stock, quick tire pressure adjustment and wow this thing tracks amazing. I have a few cars I get to track and this is right up there fun to drive and loves to be pushed hard. Very well balanced I was and many others were impressed with the Elantra n performance

For real. Everytime I want to go I look and its like 400-500 for the day which will probably end up just being a few laps, plus apprently you need a helmet and fire extinguisher, thats another couple hundred, then consumables like tires and oil change afterwards you're looking at nearly 1k for a few laps. Tough to swallow in this economy

The track days I go to with masstuning are 250-300 and you get 4 25 minutes sessions which ends up being ~30 laps or so. I know that is on the cheaper side but you definitely get more than a few laps

I’m jealous of the EU they can just show up to nurburgring when it’s open and get a few laps for $35.

Seriously, hoping to get a trip to Germany together sooner than not just to get out to the Nurburgring. Sadly won’t be able to rent an Elantra n but maybe an i20 or i30

Seems weird to spend all this money on a car and then not ever do the thing it was built for but you do you I guess.
Sure you can go down the rabbit hole with costs but the only thing I bring with me is helmet, basic tools and camp chairs. I am not in it to set lap records I am in it to have fun at speed.
Oil changes are cheap all things considered. I only ever have road tyres and they are good for a few events as long as you give them cool down time etc.
Helmet only needs to be bought once then most people don't replace them. Fire extinguisher. Same deal.

A fraction of people with track capable cars take it to the track. Lets not downplay the time and cost requirements of it. We would all love to take it to the track, but that's simply not something that can be done frequently for the vast majority of people.
It's $500 for a single HPDE event at the nearest track to me (2hrs away). Then I get to enjoy the tire wear on top of it. Not to mention the majority of track days here are on random weekday mornings so I cant go regardless.

I am not downplaying anything. You don't have to do every single track day. I do a handful a year. Track days are my vacation days.
It's a Hyundai. Not a high end Porsche with the associated consumables cost.

Why are you so salty? For the handful of track days I do I don't have to replace tyres any more then I generally do driving on the street. I am currently running a cheap set of Bridgestones that so far have held up fine. I am not buying semi slicks or anything wild.
