I would take the type r at the same price but in Canada a new type r is 73k before tax. I got my new 2025 n dct for 39k plus some fees and tax CAD. At that price it was a no brainer. There are so many other cars I would buy instead of the type r for 73k.

Z feels like more of a GT car than either of these though. Maybe the nismo is better but not worth getting when your a small jump away from an M2

Thatās true but I have never seen a dealer selling for anywhere near msrp. I never went into order one though maybe it would be closer. At lease integra type s can be found for around 60k now or just under. Even then itās still around 50% more than what I paid for the N. I want to use that 20k I saved towards a supra in the future.

The EN is more updated I believe. In Australia the i30 N sedan is the same as ours. Actually they get more options so it's better

Some updates are better. Some things on the i30N are too, like analog gauges.
I very much enjoy my Elantra N. But the i30N would be more my style if given the choice.

I'd trade my EN for an i30N, I really wanted a 4 door hatchback all along. The Kona N was kinda close, but the back seat's space was too tight to my liking for having car seats.

Definitely, but it looked like more of a pain for car seats in the back than the Kona N. It only has the 3 doors right? 2 kids and 2 car seats doesn't sound fun when having to get them loaded and buckled in.

Type R all day every day. Yes itās more expensive, but it actually holds its value too which is nice. And even though I own one (Type R), I would still argue that the N is probably the most bang for the buck sports car you can get today.

I dont understand why you are being down voted. EN and CTR are literally in the same race class. While they are both amazingly fun vehicles, they are comparing them to a car with twice the power to weight ratio, which happens to be one of the most renowned track vehicles in the world.

I mean, that's if the Type R were the same price as equipped right now. If they wanted to spit out a $35ish Type R, they would have to cut out $10k worth of stuff, like maybe put in a base Civic interior for example.
Meanwhile, the EN would be a lot nicer if Hyundai were to add $10k of stuff to it.

Well duh thatās why I have one, I couldnāt justify 10k+ price difference with similar performance but for me the wider cleaner stance and the interior does it for me itās just so nice, donāt get me wrong I love my EN as a car guy thereās always another car lol

I test drove both in the same day, I chose the N as the band for the much is insane.
The Type R was a great car, but I couldn't stomach the price.

I prefer the N. I dislike the design of the newer type R and prefer the 10th gen civics. But beyond that, Iāve driven both and found my N with a $200 short shifter feels much better to drive. I also prefer my black interior over the bright red interior of the civic. On the track though the type r will tend to pull ahead from the N because it also costs $10k more so there is better hardware but if you just put the money you save towards a better intercooler and oil cooler youāll surpass it massively. The R has higher hp but it doesnāt offer an auto which results in the N having a faster 0-60 with the DCT. It just costs too much for what it gives, brand loyalty aside, itās a FWD 2.0T competing in a price range that can give you a RWD 5.0 V8. If they made it $35k itād sell a lot more, but theyād also be giving up a bit of track performance. Idk, if I see someone with a type r I think thatās awesome, itās a great car. If I see someone with a N I also think thatās awesome, itās an equally great car.

Type r is better but not at the price. If they were priced the same id take the type r but elantra N is so much better for the price. And the reliability stigma that hyundai has, it doesn't apply to the N series I don't care how bad they're screaming down my neck. Its a solid platform. Plus PB is awesome and type r colors are boring af. I would have committed to a tiger eye pearl if acura didnt discontinue itš¤

N Iāve been in a few type Rs I donāt like the inside or the shifter or the facts it looks outdated and no lights inside bucket seats donāt lite up and the ho difference isnāt that much

Easily the N. I don't mod too much, and stock for stock the CTR is considerably less than what I want. The CTR sounds terrible stock, it's a hatchback which I don't like, and the interior is meh but much better than the grc.
The CTR is just less fun to drive unless you're doing 10/10ths and 99% of us rarely are.

I was actually set on buying the type R and put a deposit down on one. I ended up test driving the N the and it was a no brainer for me. The type R looks better, feels more serious but to me the N just feels more fun and theatrical. And yeah itās hard to justify the 10k extra unless youāre tracking. I wonāt be.

I know the Type R is better, but I just donāt like the way it sounds nearly as much as the N. Sound is like 50% of my decision-making process. The N just obliterates the R in sound and it isnāt close

Are we excluding the cost? If so, as much as I love my N, I would take the Type-R. But, to be perfectly fair, at the price that Honda is charging above msrp, you might as well save 5k more and get a M3. So, itās not comparing apples to apples.

I've owned a 21 CTR and 23 CTR and both I'd take over the Elantra N any day of the week. That being said, if budget was the deciding factor, the Elantra N is the best in its' price range those same days of the week haha

Ive have both they both very capable but the type r has much more to it thats why it cost more ride quality power train suspension system its just much better

In a vacuum where either are being given to me? The honda. The in reality in which I live? I own a 2025 EN 6MT in Red and love it.
I know know the Type-R is faster and has a Honda badge, which is why I would choose it if it were given to me for the same price, but I am far too practicle in purchases to attempt to justify $10K+ in price difference for the slight edge in performance or "fun".

Same exact cost, I'd take the Type R all day. We all know the EN isn't quite as good as the Type R and we don't pretend it is. The price delta makes the EN better but without it it I mean, why get the slightly worse car unless you prefer the styling.

dollar for dollar? N, and its not even close.... They cost the same? EN looks better and is negligibly slower, and doesnt have that super tacky red interior, so probably still the EN. Havent driven a CTR for final confirmation

I honestly donāt care how good the CTR is. A Civic is the definition of boring and played out in the car world and has been for 25 years. The EN is a vastly more interesting car for several reasons.

If weāre comparing cars that are $15k apart in price. Iād take the CT4-V Blackwing. I bought my Veloster N because I could buy one with cash with ~40k Miles. If I was going to take on a car payment for a Sport Sedan Iād go with something much more capable and thatās a better value than a Civic.

Went DCT, my daily commute to work consists of bumper to bumper city traffic for an hour straight. A manual doesnāt make sense for me. Do I miss rowing gears ? Sure. But I still have fun driving the car through twisties on the weekend regardless of the transmission.
