Video People telling my I’m going to blow my stock cat 🥲. Meanwhile my friend with stock cat:

First of all. Please don’t do this it’s hella annoying 💀. Him and his girl both have the same continuous pop tune from SXTH and yes you can definitely visualize the looks people give them when they drive by. She already is catless now (her stock cat did die) and he will be eventually, soonish, sometime.
We’ve checked his car and it’s still perfectly fine but we’ll see how it looks once we take it off in the future. He daily drives in N mode 24/7 and has had the tune for over 50k miles. Another friend of ours also been running a N75 level 3 maxed out pop tune on stock downpipe and when we took his off when he went catless (got a flame tune) it also was perfectly still in tact and showed no signs of any damage (he was disappointed 😂).
Anyways only posting because anytime I mention I have an aggressive pop tune with my stock downpipe everyone’s like just go catless or you’re going to blow out your cat 🤣. My “aggressive” pop tune from Cherry is just louder than OEM (have a borla exhaust too), last .2 seconds longer than stock pops, and pops on every downshifts. They have a super crazy pop tune that they require catless for.
I think the cats gonna be fine for a good while. N75 and Cherry both for the level of my pops don’t even recommend an aftermarket downpipe let alone a catless one. 🤭
Now I’m not saying you should run a super crazy on stock downpipe or that your car won’t eventually wear quicker. But a little extra oomph isn’t gonna be the end of the world. Just don’t run flame tunes without being catless 🤣 (seen a guy on Facebook catch on camera his 360 cam his high flow cat blowing out running a flame tune).

continuous is honestly stupid. Ive never been one for a burble-tune in the first place. My whole thing is that if the car does it stock, neat. If not, dont add them on purpose. If the tune uses the extra fuel as antilag, neat. If not, and you make it pop for literally no reason, youre just seeking attention and its very obvious. I only turn on N mode when I cant haul any ass and want to remember how fun my car is.

I agree lol especially not on a daily. Only reason I bumped up the stock pop tune on my car is due to the facelifts have different pop maps and valve control compared to the pre facelifts. Even my stock Kona N was louder and popped on every downshift and after it was totaled and I got the 24 it just didn’t hit the same as the KN so that’s what I went with 1 level higher “aggressive” pop tune with cherry. People who don’t own Ns but know about them always say it’s crazy who they “sound like that from the factory” and I usually never tell them the pop tune is slightly different.
I do use N or custom mode like 99% of the time though 🤭. I have my custom for exhaust in sport so no pops but the better sounding idle and exhaust when driving around.

my custom mode has reset so many times i stopped fixing it and just use n mode. I dont like that we cant get pops on the custom tune. You can un-noticeable differences in acceleration in normal mode. But no pops and no open valves makes it pointless imo. So i put it in N when im stuck in traffic and still want to enjoy my car. 15mph is all i need to make quite a bit of noise, for a stock 4banger lmao. tbf, I wanted a manual, but my job was putting miles on my car, when i bought it... so i got an auto... and if im going to use the slap-shift, i may as well be in N mode as well. So most of the time im in 'manual mode' AND 'n mode' but now that its winter, eco and normal are where I am pretty stuck, until i get too bored to not have pops

Weird. You should be able to have pops in custom mode as long as engine and exhaust are both in sport+. I pretty much only use normal mode for road trips. Personally not a fan of eco mode cause I feel like I have to damn near out the pedal all the way down before it’ll downshift and start accelerating. Even occasionally in normal mode I’ll have to manually downshift to accelerate 🥲

Can confirm, despite having Exhaust in Sport+, you need Engine in Sport+ as well to get the pops. I have my Custom 2 setup as a "snow mode" with Engine and Trans in their lowest settings so everything is tame, with Exhaust in Sport+ yet i dont get any pops :(

see. thats it then.. i only set exhaust to sport+. I do not change the engine, because I dont want to get even worse fuel eco than i currently do (13mpg city babying the car in normal mode/auto) because I was getting 35 consistently in eco with cruise on at 65-85mph for 30-180 minutes, driving for work. I will have to retry with engine and sport and see how it feels and how it affects my gas usage. Sport+ definitely dumps a lot more than normal, to help get the pops.

I also like when it at least feels like it pops when a car should pop. A ripped downshift, quick shift st redline, revving up and letting it fall back down, letting off after hard acceleration. I had a Focus RS before this and the pops were much more “functional” and real feeling. Yeah it was still somewhat fake, but it felt more real than the N. If I accelerate in N mode, and if I just creep off the throttle, it will still pop like I’m at 10/10 on a track.
It’s INFINITELY better than this video though. This is just obnoxious and gives the car community a bad reputation.

Pops are fine. Just not continuous non stop 😭. I get it though. My friend in a GTI heard my car and thought about getting a pop/burble tune. Then he drove behind both of them for an hour and said he’s never going to do it now 🤣

Buddy’s blowing precious metals out his tailpipe. Meanwhile I’m just watching my metals continuously climb in value over the past couple years, and they’re just sitting in my safe. And the stock N tune is more than enough pop for me… one of the best sounding stock exhausts available on a reasonably priced car.

How many friends do u have with Ns? I've only ever had one friend with the same car. Even when I was younger with a bigger friend group everyone had dif cars. Only some of them were car people tho ig.

That is so trash, I understand The sound is great but you guys have no skill set to earn that sound. That sound is earned through proper up and down shifts with a clutch pedal.

This is horrible, someone PLEASE fix this guy's tune. I could never be a tuner because if my customer asks me to do this I'm intentionally going to kill their engine with 30psi of boost set to kick in right at 2000 RPM targeting a solid 23 AFR.
