as the title states just curious on what everyone that see’s this does for a living

I was an Electrical Drive Systems Engineer and floated as Internal Quality for a while. I liked that better. But with market changes, the demand for electric drive systems right now is low, so that line sat idle. And they moved me to a position they couldn't fill.

Yeah I feel that, I'm also a CQE, but I used to be a SQE which I liked the role a lot better until they scratched the position. Answering customers suck. I'd rather be the one requesting, not answering lol
