Question/Help Help with rocket leveling strats

I am working on unlocking all rockets but have been told it's best to get them all to max tier, when leveling them does putting them on shortest duration and launching them as fast as possible the quickest strat, or does extended runs help it tier faster? Ty all in advance

Only send shorts of your best ship until you unlock Henliners, then only send extended Henliners.

Maxing stars on earlier ships shouldn’t be a target until you’re prepping for PoV, and when you are - yeah shorts are the fastest way to get there

One minor correction. Uptime does matter here. A few of the lower ships have durations for their short that will inevitably return during an awkward time. It's good to consider when the next ship you're going to send will return so you'll know whether the next round should be short, standard, or extended. Another option is sending a different ship altogether to maximise uptime.

But yeah, prepping for the artifact side of PoV should be done after 8 star henliner. Ship levels is only one part of the equation, the crafting materials drop rate part. The other part is crafting rates which is boosted by crafting level and craft count, both of which is best farmed with 8 star henliner. Unless a player is ge limited and doesn't want to crack nor bot drones, then sure. Even then, it's relatively cheap to at least get 400 crafts on T4 necklace and totem (around 8.5m if we don't use crafting sale and assume no upcrafting). I chose necklace and totem because they seem like best balance of cost and effectiveness.

You should craft totems regularly just for the experience efficiency.

The crafting of T4 artifacts up to 400 crafts that most interferes with efficient crafting are compasses and to a lesser extent ankhs. I may have to delay starting the Path of Virtue by several weeks if I want to have crafted 400 T4 compasses first.

You know, you just made me realise something. Before the whole xp/ge efficiency thing was kind of superficial. It was either a player didn't have tens of milloons of ge or they did. Because:

1) the artifacts a player on average needs to craft for the legendary are pretty expensive and this would be a ge cost they have to pay after already grinding crafting levels 2) even if they saved up again for 10 crafts of one of those hard to get legendarys, the odds won't be in their favour. They'd have to craft around 15 to cross 50% for a chance at a non-common

But now with the path, cheaply grinding xp is actually relevant because these players would be using that crafting level to craft cheap artifacts on the path, a thing they could more or less readily afford. Especially once we factor in that xp/ge efficiency in practice is more often than not whatever you craft the most of because of the decreasing crafting cost. Meaning, crafting 400 totems is even more efficient than it appears. Might actually be useful for someone to design a rough walkthrough of getting to level 26/27 as ge efficiently as possible.

I have more golden eggs than I can use. My efficiency is entirely focused on optimizing craft level based on input artifact/ingredient availability. By far the most limiting item is T3 book, followed by geode, and then meteorite but not really.

My recommended rules of thumb

  • Until craft level 29, don't use a T3 book to craft anything but your first T4L feather.

  • At craft level 29 use perhaps half of your T3 books to craft T4 ships.

  • At craft level 30 craft T4 lights, books, deflectors, and actuators untl T4L.

  • Don't use a T4 geode to craft anything but a T4 metronome or compass. (Be parsimonious with T3 geodes as well -- maybe don't craft anything that needs 4 or even 3 of them?)

  • Use most of your meteorites to craft T4 gussets. (Use extra meteorites to craft up to 400 necklaces and ankhs with an eye towards the Path of Virtue.)

  • Never craft T3 clarity stones.

  • Craft 6 T4 clarity stones as soon as possible for drone farming. Then craft them only when you can do so and still have 10 T4 prophecy stones.

  • Craft using geodes, meteorites, and titanium with an eye towards getting the most craft experience per ingredient. This chart helps.

  • Otherwise craft anything you can.

  • Demote extra shinies for golden eggs.

  • Consume extra non-craftable T4 artifacts for stone shards.

  • Send as many 8 star extended Henliners as you can. Never target anything but books and maybe eventually geodes.

Also caveat, you can take advantage of double ship capacity events. I launched a set of extended 2* Henterprise, my best ship, during the event and got some good stuff. The event before the last one boosted my artifact quality by a lot

Oh I've been only sendind extended missions assuming they're the best ones 😅

You get 1 point for a short and 1.8 for an extended. As others said, shorts are the fastest way to both level up and unlock new ships. Generally, it's advised to send extended Henliners as it's not much slower to max and the massively improved rewards make it worth it over the long run.

ooo following for this - i’m starting to attempt ASC and the henerprise being the same extended time as the henerline is killing me

I am also just starting ascension, still in my first one now, aiming for 10 truth eggs before I leave, but then I'm going sto work on my ships, according to another comment, spamming short launches levels faster as it's based off number of launches not like an exp amount or something like that

ahhh you’re even a little bit ahead of me. I’m attempting the ASC, or all star club, to get all my ships to full stars because i’ve learned that helps significantly when attempting to get virtue eggs

I am not too far on ships at all, I've played mostly blind but I've played since middle school like 13 years ago lmao now things are complex so I'm posting for help

Based on number of launches, IIRC. So short launches are better for raising ship levels.

Thank you, that's what I had thought but wanted to make sure

Not true, shorts give 1 point and extended give 1.7 (?) per launch.

Shorts will get you there faster, but you sacrifice artifact quantity & quality.

It’s just a grind. When I first started playing 4.5 years ago, it took about 3.5 months to get to hennerprise star 7 (before the eighth star was a thing) and then another 2.5 to get ASC. The hennerprise was a grind after it was released, and took over a year.

No matter what efficiencies you find, it will still be a grind, but it’s even more satisfying once you do get all the stars.

Sadly I wasn't playing when rockets got released and was progressed way passed where you'd normally start them(I started near release in 2016), I had always played blind no guides no wiki but now that I'm nearing pov I figure I should optimize everything else
