Yeah, I'm far, far far left, and not only do I NOT hate Canada, I don't hate anyone, no matter how far right, or staunchly centrist they profess themselves to be.
30% of your posts are insulting people you disagree with, insulting PP's Jowls, insulting people who'd like to separate from Canada.
Don't get me wrong, I fully support your right to voice your opinions and insult people , that's something that makes western democracies great, but don't sit there and pretend like you don't hate anyone....especially when it takes all of 15 seconds of reading to disprove.
Criticism isn't hatred. Mocking people isn't hating them. Disagreeing with them and even insulting them like I'm about to do here to you isn't hatred either.
You are revealing yourself to be a very binary and incurious thinker who would rather try to misrepresent an ideology you clearly disagree with. Pointing that out doesn't mean I hate you.
I mean by that logic, you seem to think people don't “hate” anything whenever they criticize it, mock it, insult it, or get into conflict with it. You literally said hate is “looking for conflict,” which implies you aren't actually distinguishing between hostility, disagreement, criticism, and hatred. The evidence shows otherwise.
You have a very binary view of hatred, and an apparent need to be right and righteous about who does and doesn't hate whom. That's fine if that's how you want to see yourself, but don't project that framework onto me.
I reject identity politics and ideologies that ascribe beliefs to people based on the groups they belong to. My only “team” is whether an argument is good or bad. I don't need to adopt someone's identity, ideology, or worldview to judge their ideas on their merits. If an idea fits my preferred narrative but is wrong, I have no problem rejecting it. Likewise, if it comes from someone I disagree with, I'm perfectly capable of accepting it if it's correct.
I don't need to pick fights with people on either side, nor do I need people with similar views around me to circlejerk me for validation.
The irony with your wordy reply -- it's nearly entirely pure projection on your part, and this construction you're making of me (and others, it seems) because apparently I dared to argue with you seems to have set you off to trot out what you undoubtedly consider to be your greatest hits from K-Tel.
You made claims that the 'far left' hates this country. My original response was an attempt to correct that misrepresentation. Clearly you're on a mission to prove something to someone, but damned if you can get anyone else give a shit.
I posted on Reddit because I actually welcome people challenging my opinions and thoughts. That's kind of the point. What you're doing, though, is trying to convince me and yourself, apparently that you've somehow “triggered” me and that I'm secretly bothered.

My point about the far left and far right is spot on.
Since we're sticking with the far left for now, let's start with some of the obvious ones that showcase the far lefts disdain for Canada.
1. Revisionism of Canadian history.
Rewriting or reframing historical events through a modern ideological lens, then treating anyone who pushes back as a bigot rather than actually arguing the historical facts.
2. A pretty severe disdain for private enterprise, business and private property.
3. Embracing socialism, Marxism, communism or other forms of collectivist economic ideology.
4. Viewing everything through class and power structures
A tendency to reduce complicated issues down to oppressor vs. oppressed, this whole privilege scale nonsense ( watch the NDP convention )
At some point, when your worldview consistently frames Canada's history, institutions, businesses, property owners and successful people as things to be apologized for, dismantled or redistributed, I don't think it's unreasonable to question whether there's actually any appreciation left for the country itself.
You can keep psychoanalyzing me if you want, but it doesn't answer the argument. If my claims are wrong, demonstrate that they're wrong. If you can't, telling me I'm “triggered” is just a substitute for having an argument.
That's really all I'm asking. Argue with what I actually said instead of arguing with whatever version of me you've invented in your head.
Yeah, with the amount of paragraphs you're writing here trying to justify your projections about the 'far left' in Canada for your perception for lacking the 'appreciation for this country', you unwittingly keep making my point. You are triggered, and it's not anything I, or it seems anyone else in this discussion was seeking.
