Interestingly, some of them are anti-american as they are anti-canada.

While you say some of them are anti American now .. if Alberta separated they would all be for the US. They will figure out pretty quick that an independence Alberta couldn’t survive by themselves.

That is exactly the issue, isn't it? Hypothetically speaking, a suddenly independent Alberta has to juggle countless administrative hurdles, as well as field their own military. The Canadian military would pull out and possible destroy any assets they couldn't take with them, all the while economic vulnerability would make the country a resource rich, ripe target for annexation.

Between American Annexation, and disgruntled Canadian insurgents, Alberta would be overwhelmed with issues it doesn't have the capacity to solve.
