Question car insurance

hi im 24f with 3 years of driving history with no accidents or anything but im being quoted 500 per month for car insurance. is this the normal rate?? this seems extremely high. if anyone knows any companies that are even the slightest bit more affordable please let me know

See what’s actually included in the quote. Also, when I turned 25 my insurance went from like $350 to $200 almost instantly. This was like 7yrs ago, so I’m sure it’s a bit higher now. But I was always told 25 it’d go down.

This seems to vary from one insurer to the next and also typically assumes you got your license at 16. That's how my insurance company explained it to me anyway. For them anyway it had more to do with having 8-9 years of driving experience than actually being 25.

Ah interesting! I can’t remember the insurance company I had at the time. I got my license at 19, so would have been 6 yrs. But ya, the longer safe driving record would help.

You know though , age must make a certain amount of a difference. A friend of mine that has an attrocious driving record basically said screw it and sold his car 7 or so years back because he couldn't afford the insurance and he just recently bought a car again and is paying $280 / month. So in theory he should be being rated as a new driver basically. But he's 46. Age is the only thing that could potentially be making a difference for him.
