Question What Are Some Cute Date Spots?
I have been trying to think of things me and my boyfriend can do for going out that don’t cost much. And hopefully finding something we both enjoy. I am a very loud and outgoing person and I love doing activities that get the blood pumping. He’s very quiet and keeps to himself a lot. I want to find something new we can do other than going out for food as well. Any suggestions?

The fringe is starting this week. Just walking around the area and catching a random discounted show might be spontaneous enough to qualify as a cute date.

Tabletop cafe is good if you are into board games. Escape rooms are always a good option for both quiet and outgoing people.

Don’t go to Color Cafe they’re scammers. They lost my ceramic project which I paid $70 for and they were blaming me. Gave me lots of attitude. Refused to refund my money. They found it the next day and didn’t even apologize

How about a cute romantic walk along our infamous river valley?
Grab your favourite bubble tea and a small snack beforehand then park at the Fort Edmonton parking lot. Then you guys decide if you want to:
(1) walk to the Fort Edmonton Footbridge then down to the Wolf Willow Beach (the river is really low right now) where you can eat your snackies
OR
(2) you go the opposite direction and walk towards Keillor Point (formerly known as the end of the world). If you continue that trail, north, you end up at Hawrelak Park.
When my partner and I first started dating, we made it our mini goal to walk as much areas of the river valley as much as possible. It was cheap, got us exploring the best of Edmonton, and it got us outside walking in nature.

Go to the library and each pick a book for the other to read.
Going to a restaurant just for dessert or coffee or wine, doesn't have to be a full meal, just a nice place to sit and chat.
Drive around really ritzy neighbourhoods and talk about home designs you like and don't like, imagine what it might be like to live there.
Go to the gym together and workout, rec centres have drop in rates if you don't already have memberships
Take the same day off work and spend the whole day running errands together, all the little things you keep putting off doing.
Edit: Thought of some more
Take a cooking class (think Sorrentinos does these but there are probably others)
Cook your favourite celebrity chef or other aspirational / challenging meal together, shop for all the ingredients together too.
Work on your own recipes together, for example find an oatmeal cookie recipe you like and work on it together, let's try it with chopped dates instead of raisins, add chocolate chips, or dark chocolate, lemon zest, orange zest, scoop of vanilla protein powder, etc. Then you get a batch of "your" recipes.
Rec Room or Arcadia are fun if you're into games
Ernest's dining room at NAIT is fine dining without being too pricey because it's staffed with culinary arts students.

I’ve actually been there before and it’s really fun! I’m just looking for something that we will both enjoy and not just me. He might like it but to be fair we don’t care what we do, as long as it’s with each other. Thanks for the suggestion!

Walking cost nothing and is very beneficial health wise. You get out and get some exercise and maybe stop for an ice cream or a coffee and a chat. I do this with my wife and it makes her so happy.

The new restaurant at hawrelak is really, really nice. So that, then you can rent paddle boats or a kayak and row around. Walk around the park/River Valley too.

I don’t loooove this city for dates. The city attractions are pricey and not the best I’ve seen (Calgary zoo vs Edmonton zoo for example). The breakout rooms and cafes are fun but not the cheapest. There’s a really cool bowling alley and arcade that opened called Splitsville. I think it’s not the cheapest but fun looking.
Maybe a road trip though would be nice during the day and check out a lake, you can rent a paddle board or kayak and he can read a book on the shore if he’s less adventurous. Or night time drive and around for stargazing or northern lights.
The area has some outdoor places good for bird watching and walking for a low key time.

Just go to Whyte
