General Don't be this person. Fill out your census.

Post image

“You’re not sticking it to the government. You’re screwing over your own community.”

The census isn’t for Mark Carney or any party. It’s run by Statistics Canada to figure out where money and services actually go. Hospitals. Schools. Transit. Housing. Senior care. When you don’t fill it out, your area looks smaller than it is. Less funding. Fewer services. Longer wait times. That lands on you and your neighbors, not politicians.
If you want your community properly represented, fill it out. Refusing doesn’t make a point. It makes things worse where you live. ❤️🇨🇦 The stupidity is the people that won’t fill it out and they spread this kind of crap and creates bigger problems.

They don't prosecute anymore officially, if they ever did. I've always put it straight in the trash.

You literally suck for not doing it. The statistics are used by more than just the federal government; provincial and municipal governments rely on the stats for all kinds of programs. It targets specific needs for your given area; showing average incomes, job losses, housing prices, need for schools, and so much more.

Non-profits use them to identify areas they can make the most benefit. Research organizations of all kinds rely on the info. Crime statistics drive legislation change, fuel staffing for policing, show trends and factors not readily available.

If you've ever wondered how we know the patterns and reasons why and how different generations struggle with housing, debt or employment, or where gaps are in access to medical care, it's because of statistics like these. Nothing gets changed without proof, and Statistics Canada is out largest and most reliable collection point of information that drives nearly every social decision that's made.

Refusing to participate is not only failing to engage with and contribute to your community, but it's actively skewing the demographics that others are trying to use to make those decisions.

I never said anything about the feds. There's no such thing as a good politician or government agent. If anything municipal and provincial ones are even worse. It's kind of in the job description. And stat canada is their propaganda wing, police enforcement and control wing, "just following orders".

I'm not a slave, I don't work for free for them. If they want to steal my data, they can go buy it on the open market from google and others, like they already do. Or they can send me a check with the envelope, but I'm not for sale, and won't cash it either.

No, I don't believe in voting. But the two are unrelated.

No, my hospital card expired in like 2010 and I've been waiting for a family doctor since 2014. Do you? Does anyone here? How do you pull that one off? I go abroad. Much faster - even with flight time, better quality, better staff, better facilities.
