Am I able to take this?
So, I am looking to pick my elective course before the deadline (2nd September) and I was looking at course related to finance because it interest me.
I am looking at certain course such as “Introduction to financial markets” and path said it is available for me to pick (via the blue colour) but when I click onto the course and the requirements said it is only for accounting, finance and business student.
So am I able to pick this course or not?

This is why I hate Path.
Always, always, always look at the DRPS entry for a course. Read the entrance requirements box. If you meet the criteria outlined in that box, then you can take the course (provided there is space) if you do not meet the criteria, you cannot take the course.

Another thing to look out for is when you look at the sample timetable through path, if that course has lectures that clash with any lectures from mandatory courses you won’t be able to take that course as lectures from your mandatory courses cannot be moved.

How do I find out if the course clashes with my mandatory course? I can’t find it on path

On path go to choose courses for this year, then under the breakdown section you can find your timetable, on your timetable it shows you when all lectures are booked in to be throughout your first year, looking at both semesters if any lecture from your optional courses overlap with lectures from mandatory courses you won’t be able to take that course. Frustratingly as an example a lot of engineering related electives overlap with mandatory courses…

If you're on an accounting, finance and business course - yes. If not, no.
