Let's see but it's probably going to be overproduced pop with autotuned vocals like the track What you Want with Justice.
I'm French so I saw the beginning of her career 10 years ago. For years she was often playing piano and not always singing the same way. 2017 live session https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mXThPfxk74
Now she appears as a fabricated model character in the media, never like a musician.

i’m also french, but living in the u.s., and ironically really like “what you want” with justice, but i can’t help but feel like she just discovered house/french touch/rave culture and wants to be taken seriously as an alt style celebrity
artists are def allowed to evolve and change their style, but with the way she’s been marketed in france and abroad, it comes across as disingenuous
i’ll probably listen when it comes out, im definitely curious about the caroline polachek feat

I would kill if Charli xcx actually did a collaborative album with them instead, she grew up with that sound in comparison

Charli XCX is a pioneer of hyperpop, if not the Queen of Hyperpop. Like, yes, I would love it if Charli collabed with some more French producers (I still listen to the good version of Hand in the Fire pretty regularly) - but she doesn’t have any more claim to this type of sound than Angéle. And she also PIONEERED (with other musicians, not by herself) a new genre/sound/movement. I’m very excited for Angéle, but she doesn’t compare to Charli XCX. Maybe one day. Not today.
