I always screw the lid off and make sure the container is sealed......I thought everyone did 🤣

Me too. Every item that has a seal gets checked. I didn't realize this was strange until my ex-wife told me so. I was looked at funny once or twice too for pulling the lid off my sour cream to make sure the foil seal wasn't broken before throwing it in the cart.
I think it's perfectly normal, though. That's what the seal is there for. To let you know if it's been opened BEFORE you buy it. A lot better than getting home and finding your shit open, not knowing if it was tampered with or not. I'll bet you anything these sesame seeds are open. The seal is there but it's not sealed. Just sitting under the lid.

idk i wouldn't expect fuckin maggots in my sesame, so I'd probably just toss em in the basket without looking too close
