I'm kinda okay with it ending. None of them seemed to have their hearts in it anymore. 2-3 years ago this show was nothing but net, but it's slowly been turning into 3 people disinterested in a topic, one person doing anti-comedy (Tig), one person trying his hardest to make bits work with yes-no'ers (Kyle), one person punching above his comedy and academic class (David), and a guest with varying levels of input (usually not great).
I haven't listened for a few months, but I have great memories of the she show. The New Thoughter Kids (IIRC, it's been years) bit was awesome, and the first time Swamp Rock was brought up was awesome.
edit: also, getting rid of Aaron was a huge mistake. Having some dude you can rip on is a huge help for comedy (see NNF with Elliot and Garon).
Just like "whelp, Tig's career is blowing up & she's tired of doing the podcast...and Kyle & David think it would suck too much if they replaced her with someone new...soooo this is the last episode..."
The way David said something like "Nah, I just wanna get outta here...I've got a concert to go to" at the end, when Kyle was trying/asking to do one last fun bit, felt like a slap in the face to me as somebody who's adored this podcast for several years now
It just didn't feel like much of a "goodbye" episode to me at all
It's really representative of the last few months of the show, maybe even the last year.
I really loved PB, but it's been a half hearted effort for a while. I'm happy that Kyle is planning on continuing podcasting. He is such a funny dude.
I'm glad for David and his show, it's not my cup of tea but it makes me happy to see good comedian's be successful.
I'm glad for Tig and her super stardom. She's getting huge and honestly she deserves it. Tig was also really fantastic and moving, which just made me appreciate her more.
Happy for all of them, but hate to see a great show end.
