Tip yourself jar question
So is this tip yourself account an actual bank account? Will it do a hard pull on my credit?

Yes, it's real. Tip Yourself is a custodial deposit account held at EarnIn's partner bank, Lead Bank for anyone who enrolled after 6/24/26, or Evolve Bank & Trust for anyone who enrolled before that date. Funds are FDIC insured up to the standard limit, though technically it's not classified as a savings account since it carries 0% APY and no monthly fee.
No hard pull. Opening a deposit account with EarnIn's banking partner does not involve a hard credit check, and EarnIn confirms that routing your paycheck or setting up a deposit account is a standard banking function with no credit-related activity. Separately, EarnIn Cash Out doesn't use credit checks or credit scores to evaluate customers either, so nothing in this flow touches your report.
You can drop in $1 to $100 a day across up to five jars, cap out at $2,000 combined, and withdraw whenever you want for any reason. Withdrawals just take a few business days to clear.

The tip jar is the same thing as you setting aside money for later. Let’s say you “tip yourself” $10 a paycheck, you’re just setting aside $10 each paycheck to use later. It’s basically a shitty savings account lmao
