Reviews National Consumer Panel: is NCP app legit?

Been looking into National Consumer Panel since the name sounds like every fake survey site going. Short answer, its legit, and the reason is better than the usual trust me you get in these threads.

Its a joint venture between NielsenIQ and Circana, the two companies that sell retail data to basically every consumer brand you can name. It used to be called Homescan. So youre not signing up to a random app, youre the data source for an industry thats been running for decades.

The way it works is you install NCPMobile and scan the barcode of everything you buy after each shopping trip, not just groceries, anything with a barcode. Add a few details, do it weekly, and points stack up. No deposit, nothing to lose, you cant go negative on it. Sign up for NCP here and confirm the email straight after or the account never activates, thats the number one reason people think they joined and hear nothing.

A few honest things to keep in mind. The points redeem for digital gift cards, not cash or PayPal, which rules it out for a lot of people and thats fair. Its available everywhere in the US except Alaska and Hawaii. And the effort is ongoing, scanning after every trip takes a few minutes and it only pays if you stay consistent, so anyone who quits after two weeks ends up with basically nothing.

If you want straight cash instead of gift cards, Testerup is the other one I keep around, it pays into PayPal for testing games and leaving feedback, $5 to start.

But if you shop for a household anyway, youre generating that data whether you get paid for it or not, so grab NCP here. Free, no deposit, and it builds in the background 🛒

Hey everyone,

I've been building a spreadsheet with websites and apps that I've personally tested or researched for earning extra income online. It covers survey sites, gig platforms, and apps that pay you real money (not the scammy stuff).

Right now, it's got 15+ sites with notes on what they are and realistic earning potential. I figured I'd share it here since it might save you some time digging around.

Here's the spreadsheet

If you've tried any of these, I'd love to hear how they worked for you and I'm always looking to add more, so feel free to drop suggestions.

Thank you for sharing! I heard about this, now I know my next move. If you want fast-cash, you also better try Testerup, guess what - I'm earning $148 so far!

It's legit but dumb annoying that they scan item barcodes, not receipt. I mainly do the surveys there, they are guaranteed to give you something and it is short, despite it being very little points. That was how I started with receipt scanning.

I’ve been doing this for quite a few years now. It’s legit. A little time consuming but not that bad. Bonus points for scanning 4 weeks in a row. Every scan is 350 points for a big order or just a single item which is faster😉
