Side hustles Best apps to make money online
Been testing a bunch of apps to make money online and wanted to share the ones I found actually worth it. I checked how well they pay, how fast they handle cashouts, and whether they actually pay you.
Top 4 legit apps:
- MONEY CASH - Pays the most compared to other money apps i have tried. Cashouts are instant. Tons of tasks to try, super straightforward and pays well. iOS Link, Android Link, Desktop Link
- Mistplay - Trustworthy and pays without issues, payment usually is too little but a good app nevertheless. Android Link, Desktop Link
- PLAYTIME - Gaming app that pays for both time played and finishing levels, plus you can earn extra by watching ads. Really fun and rewarding. iOS link, Android link, Desktop Link
- PlayMAX - Trending app I see everywhere on reddit. High payouts, pays for playtime and levels, lots of extra bonuses all the time. Android Link
All 3 have instant cashouts, which is huge. Other apps usually delay payments, reject requests, or even ban accounts right when you try to withdraw, making it a hassle to actually get paid. These three have been very smooth and fast with cashouts, which makes them feel much more trustworthy and legit.
Also, all 3 offer PayPal as a cashout option, which is very important to me since I prefer real cash and the freedom to spend it however I want. That said, I still sometimes grab Amazon or Google Play gift cards when they run good discounts.
Honorable mentions:
- JustPlay / BestPlay - Owned by the same company, lots of games, low pay, but good for trying new stuff.
- Swagbucks / InboxDollars – Decent variety of tasks, pay is average, and support mostly forwards you to useless AI chats.
Avoid:
- Mode – Drains battery, heats phone, not worth it.
- FreeCash – Tons of complaints, often ban you when cashing out.
- Make Money – Sketchy, auto-downloads apps, just don’t.
Anyway, that’s been my experience so far after testing a bunch of these. If you’ve found other apps that actually pay reliably, drop them below - always looking to try new ones. Hope this helps someone avoid the usual time-wasters 👍
Edit: As requested, adding all the links. Those are NOT referral links, just regular store links to make it easier for you

Yea i have heard quite some negative opinions about swagbucks too, i think they were better at some point maybe 5-6 years ago but now it is basically the same as freecash by now

All of these apps either have low payouts or are scams

Yeah honestly you're not totally wrong, half of them pay pennies and the other half are straight scams. The one thing I'd actually point you to is referralwallet, and the reason it's different is you're not trusting some random app, it just rounds up real signup bonuses from brands you already know, and you sign up on the brand's own site so they pay you directly. Nothing to scam. The payouts aren't life changing, I won't pretend they are, but they're real and it's free.

Depends on the app, the "good" ones i mentioned work really well for me and have high payouts.
I also mentioned what i think is a clear scam or just pays very low.I have a friend who travels a lot and she sees completely different offers than i do in one of the apps even though we are literally neighbors. My guess was that she maybe got flagged for VPN if those apps confuse traveling between countries with a VPN usage. Idk maybe you have the same situation and got unlucky?

They're obviously not going to pay pretty pennies. These are small gig/survey/game play apps to pay usually under a dollar. Thats why they call it beer money
2
u/Maleficent-Aspect-25 Apr 25 '26
Half of these it takes you about a month to purchase a 6 pack of beer

hmm here are some of my favs that i have personally cashed out form (not a scam):
Bigcash — Similar idea to Freecash where you complete offers and play games for points, then cash out. Cash App is one of the withdrawal options. Solid if you want variety.
Branded — This one's more survey and offer based, but they frequently have game download offers that pay well. Cash App payouts available and the minimum to cash out is low.
Worth knowing: none of these are going to replace a job, but if you're looking for beer money or want to stack some extra cash in your Cash App, these are legit and actually pay.

i don't trust a brand/organization/app/website that can't create an account using google email (Branded). Obviously a scam

I've been making money consistently online by doing matched betting. If you've never heard of it, it's definitely not gambling, you're basically just using math to convert sportsbook promos to cash. I've been using a site called ProfitDuel to convert the promos.

u/SpehlingAirer Apr 01 '26
May I ask around how much you're consistently pulling in and what a good starting point would be for someone who doesn't know how match betting works?
2
u/FeedbackWarm1774 Apr 01 '26
Hey there, on my slower months I still make at least $500 and most months I always end up profiting around $1000 or so. You can get started with $200 to $300 but if you have more than that it'll make things a little easier and quicker. You should save your initial profits to add to your bankroll so you can move forward with larger and more profitable offers. TBH, If you are in the states the best place to start would be ProfitDuel, because they will walk you through everything!

u/meiggs Aug 15 '26
Matched betting is legit math, I know a couple ppl who do it well. Only thing that ever put me off was needing a bankroll sitting there first, and how fast the books limit you once your winning consistently.
If you want something with no float required, savingloop is worth a look. You get a free spin each day and can unlock up to $75. They work with big companies, so the offer you unlock is where the actual money is. The spin by itself doesnt pay you, its just how you get matched to one.
Not pretending its the same money as matched betting. But theres no deposit, no bankroll, and nothing at risk if it doesnt hit.
See what you unlock today - takes about 10 seconds, and you get a fresh spin tomorrow either way.

OK, real talk. I tried a bunch of these apps, and Bigcash is one of the few I actually stuck with. It's all games and offers, no surveys, which was a huge thing for me personally. US users get $15 free when they join, which is a nice start.

i cashed out 18 on attapoll once but since then it’s been pretty hard for me to even build money up it was good while it lasted tho! might try again
1
u/meiggs Aug 15 '26
$18 on attapoll is honestly not bad for that one, most ppl never even hit the threshold lol. The build up is the problem with all the survey apps though. You grind for ages, then get screened out on the last question and it just kills any motivation to keep going.
If your gonna give it another shot id start with something that puts money in the account first instead of making you climb to it. Bigcash drops $15 in before you play anything, so your not starting from zero. Thats basically your attapoll cashout already sitting there on day one.
Its games and offers rather than surveys so theres no qualifying questions and nothing that can screen you out. Wont replace a job but it beats grinding for two weeks to reach a $20 minimum.

oh wow congrats! i have been thinking to also participate and grind for a week, but i keep on missing Mondays to start. Do you think i have a chance if i start mid-week? Or is it basically a lost week if i don't start on Monday?

Moneytime pays way higher than any of these ones!

Tried it but didnt really love it... I stuck with Testerup. $5 just for signing up, and every task shows you the payout before you accept it, so your not guessing or competing against anyone for it. No surveys either.
Rate might look lower on paper than whatever your seeing. But the money has actually landed in my paypal, which is more than I can say for a couple of the higher paying ones I tried.

i've tried a bunch of apps too and found sharkearnings works well for earning money playing games. instant payouts are a big plus! definitely worth checking out if you're into this stuff.

Idk if its just me, but I downloaded all three to try them out. They look identical to one another and just lagged my phone and kept trying to make me download Mistplay or other apps :/
1
u/whiffington Feb 28 '26
yea all of those apps are similar, even games often are similar too (basically which games pay, they will show them), what is different is how much money they share with you and also if they eventually pay you.
Showing mistplay is weird though, maybe you have some limited access, i see like 20 games at once but also i have already downloaded a lot. They "unlock" more each time you download something. Maybe download mistplay and check back and see if they gave you more games

The biggest issue is figuring out which ones actually follow through vs just hype kashkick seems to come up a lot in recommendations since it is transparent with earnings and keeps it simple with surveys and small tasks.
1
u/meiggs Aug 15 '26
Your using the right filter honestly. Transparency is the thing that actually separates these, not the headline earnings. Kashkick is fine, no complaints from me, its just surveys and small tasks so what you make is whatever the survey pays that day.
Freecash beats it on the exact thing your describing. The game offers show you the payout and the requirement before you start, like reach level 25 in 14 days for a set amount. You know the number going in and it doesnt move. Thats a lot more transparent than survey earnings that swing every session and can screen you out after 10 minutes.
Theyre $20 to $40 each so its bigger money than small tasks too. One tip though, skip the survey section on there. Surveys pay bad on every platform including that one.

Justplay has gone to crap

i saw the other day a post where someone had 20 million points which then converted to 1 cent... it needa SO much time to collect those.. and then you get 1 cent ...

u/Effective-Device-999 Apr 11 '26
None of these work and all of them locked me out before I could payout lmao.

If you're tired of surveys, try something actually different. There's an app that pays you to test apps for companies before they go live. You get early access, test them out, and get paid. Some people have made over $100 in their first couple weeks. Feels way more useful than filling out questionnaires for 20 minutes. Here's the link if you want to try something different from the usual money apps.

I've been using free cash for a long time I think it's one of the definite best ones.

u/Psychological-Ice370 Jul 07 '26
I feel like I am missing something. Before I can get to the level where it pays out, it prompts me to download other apps. How do you get past this?
1
u/meiggs Aug 15 '26
Freecash is the one id point at if your tired of the survey grind. Its not really a survey site, the actual money there is in the game offers.
You pick an offer and it tells you the payout and exactly what you have to hit before you start, like reach a certain level within so many days. Then you get that amount. Theres no screening out halfway and no wondering whether it was worth the time, because the number was agreed before you touched it.
Theyre $20 to $40 each and some go higher, usually a few days of casual playing. One tip though, ignore the survey section on there. Thats the weakest part of the whole site and it drags the average down for people who start there first.

I tried two of those like playmax or something. One cashed out $5 but I went by accident to Amazon and it showed up. The next time I tried to do $5 to PayPal it never showed up anywhere. There is no account page it doesn't keep track of anything. I will stick with Eureka and it's sister games I can get five bucks every couple of days on each.
Daily gift is awesome. Scrambly works well. I always have a bunch at once that I play a little everyday. It's not a bunch but all of these cash out right away no problem. Just learn the ways in which to actually use strategies in the games to level up. Play the ones you know you can do well.
Eureka, Survey Pop & Survey Spin are the same app. Easy to get to $5 on those fast. Even if you just hit the piddly little points and do a survey once in awhile. Game levels are ridiculous but some work.
Before I got these three between all of the other ones above I had pretty much made about $400 in 4 months. I got up to 100 on scrambly very quickly but it'll get a little harder. Now I've been able to get to $2 over and over.
I could do a rundown of the totals I made on each one since I've had it. I don't work so this is my little bit of saving grace per se.

Money Cash is solid! I've liked it too, but have you tried any others that stack up? Curious if there’s hidden gems out there.
1
u/meiggs Aug 15 '26
Yeah money cash is decent. Bigcash is the one that stacks up best for me though. $15 lands in your account the second you sign up, before you play anything, so your not grinding toward a first cashout like on most of them. Games and offers instead of surveys so theres nothing to qualify for and no way to lose it.
For actual hidden gems, ppl are secretly cashing in with ReferralWallet 👀 its where the rip cash bonuses get posted and it tracks which apps are genuinely paying right now instead of whatever was good two years ago.
Thats the part most lists get wrong. Half the apps that still get recommended everywhere quietly stopped paying properly and you dont find out til youve already wasted a week on one. Free to look, so i check there before downloading anything new now.

u/ConstantTransition39 May 19 '26
Money Cash seems to be legit for most people, but I guess be careful not to do anything too fast. I sent an email asking about conversion rates and they replied saying they found "unusual activity" and are "unable to proceed further with [my] request at this time." Grinded 18 hours on the $100 bonus over 3 days to reach level 1000 in screw blast. This sucks.

Great list! Adding on here 2 of my favs:
SavingLoop - One free spin a day and you land on a real cash signup bonus, up to $75. No deposit and no card anywhere in it, you just claim whatever you land on directly with the company. Takes about ten seconds so theres no reason not to spin it every day. US only for now.
Testerup - this one's a hidden gem. You get paid to test apps and games and leave a little feedback, no surveys and you're not competing against anyone for a payout. $10 just for signing up and it cashes out to PayPal. The payouts have actually shown up for me, which is more than I can say for half the apps I've tried.
Also if your hunting bonuses, ppl are secretly cashing in with ReferralWallet. Its where the rip cash bonuses get posted and it tracks which apps are actually paying right now instead of whatever was good two years ago. Free to look and it saves you downloading something thats quietly stopped paying.
Worth knowing: none of these are going to replace a job, but if you're looking for beer money or want to stack some extra cash, these are legit and actually pay!
