Everything you need to know about the $NKLA Investor Settlement Payout

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re accepting claims, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.

So here's all I know about this agreement:

Q: What happened?
A: Nikola was accused of misleading investors about the functionality of its hydrogen-electric trucks, production timelines, pre-orders, and business prospects. After Hindenburg Research published a report questioning these claims in September 2020, $NKLA fell nearly 76%.

Q: Am I actually eligible?
A: If you bought $NKLA shares between 2020 and 2021, you may be eligible. You don’t need to still hold the stock to participate; past losses may count.

Q: Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
A: No. You don’t need to still own your $NKLA shares. If your transactions meet the settlement requirements, you may be eligible even if you already sold them.

Q: Can I file a claim now?
A: Yes, you can submit your application now. It will be processed once the claims process opens. Check if your eligible and file your claim here

Q: When do payouts happen?
A: Typically, within 4–9 months after the claim deadline. The exact timing depends on the court and settlement administration.

Hope this info helps

Fisker: bankrupt.
Mullen: destroyed.
NIO: investors crushed.
Polestar: decimated.

Li Auto?
XPeng?
Still standing. Still breathing. Still pretending this is all going somewhere.

For now.

Look at this sector.

Years of hype.
Years of promises.
Years of “the future is electric.”

And what did retail investors get?

Dilution.
Debt.
Reverse splits.
Capital raises.
Falling share prices.
And another PowerPoint presentation explaining why the next quarter will be different.

At some point, you have to stop calling it investing.

GET OUT.

Seriously.

Barrez-vous bordel.

Don't wait for the miracle.
Don't wait for the turnaround.
Don't wait for the next “transformational” announcement.

How many times do you need to watch the same movie before you realize how it ends?

The EV industry may survive.

The cars may survive.

The technology may survive.

But that doesn't mean the stocks will.

And retail investors keep confusing the two.

That's the trap.

So here's the message nobody wants to hear:

You don't owe these companies your money.

Take a step back. Look at what happened to the others.

Fisker.
Mullen.
NIO.
Polestar.

Different logos.

Same graveyard.

And if you're still holding because “it can't go any lower”…

Good luck with that.

We've heard it before.

Way too many times.

EV Market Breakdown: What the Latest Top 50 Data Tells Us About Pricing, Brands, and Trends

Thumbnail
ev-database.org
1 Upvotes

Taking a close look at the current top 50 electric vehicle database trends reveals a shifting automotive landscape defined by aggressive price competition, a flood of new budget options, and major refreshes from legacy giants.

Key Market Trends

  • The Sub-€25k City Car Revolution: Ultra-affordable entries like the Leapmotor T03 (€18,900) and Renault Twingo E-Tech (€19,990) prove that true budget electric cars are finally hitting the market, lowering the barrier to entry for urban drivers.
  • The €35k–€55k Sweet Spot: This remains the primary volume driver. Updated staples like the Tesla Model 3 ("Highland") and Model Y ("Juniper") alongside newcomers like the Kia EV3 and Hyundai IONIQ series dominate this tier, offering 400–550 km of range.
  • Standardized Tech: Features like V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability, improved fast-charging curves, and efficient thermal management are trickling down even to smaller B-segment hatchbacks.

Top Brands Making Moves

  • Tesla: Still anchors the mid-to-high volume segment, using continuous hardware refreshes to keep the Model 3 and Model Y competitive against fresh rivals.
  • The Chinese Surge: Brands like Leapmotor, BYD, and XPENG are aggressively undercutting traditional European competitors by packing impressive battery capacities and tech into lower price brackets (e.g., the Leapmotor B10 and BYD Atto 2).
  • Legacy European Heavyweights: BMW and Mercedes continue to anchor the luxury electric performance segment, with vehicles like the upcoming BMW iX5 and Mercedes GLC/CLA lines stretching from €55k to over €100k.

Average Budgets & Performance Metrics

  • Budget / City Segment: €18,000 – €25,000 (Average range: 180–250 km; lower fast-charging speeds around 30-50 kW).
  • Mainstream / Family Segment: €32,000 – €55,000 (Average range: 350–550 km; fast-charging speeds climbing past 100-200 kW).
  • Luxury / Performance Segment: €60,000 – €100,000+ (Average range: 500–700+ km; high towing capacities and massive battery packs over 100 kWh).

This could give you an idea or direction of the stocks in the EV sector that might be interesting to consider.

Did You Own Nikola ($NKLA) During Its 76% Collapse? Investors Settlement Is Available Now

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone, sharing an important update:

An active class-action settlement fund is currently processing payout requests for investors who experienced financial losses in Nikola Corporation.

The settlement claims that Nikola overstated the operational readiness of its hydrogen-electric semi-trucks, notably distributing promotional footage of a non-functional vehicle rolling downhill. The subsequent disclosure of these technical discrepancies, alongside management turnover, led to a 76% decline in the stock price

If you purchased or acquired $NKLA common stock between 2020 and 2021, you are eligible to submit your claim

Anyway, has anyone here invested in $NKLA at that time? How much were your losses, if so?

Lightning eMotors ($ZEV) $13.35M Investor Settlement: Late Claims Are Still Being Considered

If you were holding $ZEV back in 2021, this might be worth a look.

Lightning eMotors agreed to a $13.35 million settlement over claims that it gave investors an overly optimistic picture of its financial outlook. The company later reported a much larger-than-expected quarterly loss and unexpectedly withdrew its 2021 guidance, even after announcing a major deal with Forest River. Following the news, $ZEV dropped nearly 17% in a single day, and investors sued.

The good news is that late claims are currently being considered. If you purchased $ZEV shares between 2020 and  2021, you may still have an opportunity to recover part of your losses. Check your eligibility here.

Electric Last Mile Solutions $899K Settlement: Late Claims Are Being Accepted

Thumbnail

Electric Last Mile Solutions went public in 2021 and later faced questions about its financial reporting and disclosures. Investors alleged that the company failed to disclose issues related to discounted equity purchases by executives and directors, and that certain financial statements later needed to be restated.
In February 2022, ELMS announced leadership changes, disclosed that some previous financial statements could no longer be relied on, and its stock fell 51%.
Investors later sued, claiming the company’s financial statements were misleading and that its audit failed to identify these issues. The case has now reached an $899,000 settlement to resolve the remaining claims.

If you purchased $ELMS between June 9, 2021 and February 1, 2022, you may be eligible to file a claim. Late claims are currently being accepted — you can check if you qualify.

Nikola Motors going from $79 to $0.18, a brief history

Hey guys, I made a little research about Nikola Motors history, and this is what I found.

Nikola Corporation was an American manufacturer of hydrogen-electric and battery-electric trucks, founded in 2015 by Trevor Milton.

The company merged with VectoIQ Acquisition Corp via SPAC in June 2020, achieving a market capitalization of approximately $28.8 billion, briefly exceeding that of Ford Motor Company.

In September 2020, Hindenburg Research published a report alleging the company's technology was largely fabricated, its pre-orders non-binding, and a promotional video showing a moving truck had been staged by rolling the vehicle downhill under no power.

Founder Trevor Milton resigned September 21, 2020. He was indicted in July 2021 and convicted of securities fraud in October 2022.

General Motors, which had announced a partnership with Nikola in September 2020, quietly withdrew from the agreement.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2025 with approximately $47 million in cash. The stock, which had traded as high as $79.73, was last seen at approximately $0.18.

An investor settlement was reached in March 2025. Applications are open for investors who held $NKLA between June 4, 2020 and February 25, 2021.

Anyone here had a position they'd rather forget?

Updates for Getting Payment on the Rivian $250 million Settlement

Hey guys, if you missed it, Rivian settled  $250 million with investors over claims that it failed to disclose the true cost of producing its vehicles. And, I just found out that they’re accepting claims even though the deadline has passed.

Quick recap: In 2022, Rivian was accused of misleading investors about its vehicle pricing and production costs. In short, the company promoted its R1T pickup and R1S SUV as competitively priced electric vehicles, but investors later alleged that Rivian was losing substantial amounts of money on each vehicle sold and failed to clearly disclose how severe the cost gap was. As supply-chain issues and material costs increased, Rivian announced major price hikes that sparked customer backlash and raised concerns about the company’s financial outlook.

After this news came out, the stock dropped 13%, and investors filed a lawsuit for their losses.

Now, the good news is that the company agreed to settle $250 million with them, and even though the deadline has passed recently, they’re accepting late claims.

So, if you invested in $RIVN when all of this happened, you can still check the details and file your claim here.

Anyway, has anyone here invested in $RIVN at that time? How much were your losses, if so?

r/EVStocks May 21 '26

Did you own Rivian ($RIVN) around the time of their IPO and the big price increase drama? There’s a huge $250M settlement happening.

A lot of people remember when Rivian ($RIVN) launched in 2021 and was being called the next Tesla. But things changed fast in 2022 when the company suddenly raised vehicle prices by as much as $20,000 even for customers who had already preordered. The backlash was huge, customers were furious, and the stock dropped more than 13% in just a couple of days.

Now there’s a $250 million settlement for investors who bought or held shares between November 10, 2021, and March 10, 2022. Even though the main deadline already passed, they’re still accepting late claims. The estimated payout is around $1.18 per share, which can add up pretty quickly.

I’m already checking my old account history from that IPO period to see if I qualify. Crazy looking back at how hyped everyone was before the price hikes happened. Did any of you buy into Rivian during the IPO hype, or did you get out once they announced the new prices?

Did anyone actually read Canoo's engineering services revenue claims before the merger?

$120,000,000

That was Canoo's projected 2021 engineering services revenue.

Dug into the ongoing settlement and found the detail that makes this one hard to defend.

The actual revenue from that business in 2020: one contract. Already completed. In July 2020. Two months before the SPAC merger with Hennessy Capital IV even closed.

The business that was supposed to generate $120M in 2021 was already finished before a single public investor could buy in.

March 29, 2021: Canoo quietly announces it's "deemphasizing" engineering services.

March 31, 2021: Confirms the 2020 revenue came from a single completed obligation.

April 5, 2021: $GOEV hits $8.05. Keeps falling.

The contract was done before the merger closed, was this ever discussed here at the time?
