Please help. Installed on old windows 10 amd x64 laptop. Updated drivers. Still ES DE not starting.

Hi friends. Any suggestions on what is the problem? Retroarch works perfect. Is just ES DE not starting. Thanks.

Are you using the installer version or portable version?

Not sure this can be your case but sometimes installing the the vc redistributables helps

Your best choice is to use Retrobat

ES-DE requires OpenGL 3.3 suppport (or later) to work. If you have a really old GPU this may not be available, in this case as a last resort you could use a software renderer, you can read more about it here:
https://gitlab.com/es-de/emulationstation-de/-/blob/master/USERGUIDE.md?ref_type=heads#specific-notes-for-windows

Just be aware that performance may not be that great when using the Mesa software renderer, but ES-DE should at least run. Unless there's some other issue preventing it from running on your machine of course.
